Shawndiver 0 #1 October 3, 2006 Despite all firewalls, cookie settings, etc. I have managed to pick up what I believe is the Netstat re-director. I keep getting these pop ups, and occasionally another explorer window opens up to various sites. I cannot find anything that specifically addresses this f*&king thing, anyone had any experience with removing this SOB? Thanks!_________________
angrypeppers 1 #2 October 3, 2006 Check your registry. I've seen viruses and *ware that plant themselves in there, and are a bugger to clean out. Then run registry, virus, adware, and trojan scans. I'm no expert, but it works for me. I also run FireFox or Opera rather than IE which seems to help a bit. Good luck! ChrisBurn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me. Jeff.Donohue 0 #3 October 3, 2006 I've had good luck with AdAware SE (freeware from Lavasoft), http://sue.sentientdesign.co.uk/personal.php. If that doesn't do it, you will want to be thorough about it, and follow the steps here: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 And then, as someone else suggested, run Firefox, Flock or Opera (which are not 100% malware proof either, by the way). Hope this helps.
wildblue 7 #4 October 3, 2006 I've always had good luck with Ad-Aware and Microsoft's Defender If you know what you're looking for/doing, google HijackThis, Killbox, and dllcompare - download those three and go to town.it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality

Shawndiver 0 #6 October 3, 2006 Yep, thanks all, I have already run Adaware and Microsoft Defender, they both report all is peachy. I have also been on the Majorgeeks forum, and all they have there is for the toolbar version of this bastard. About ready to just flatten and rebuild this thing!_________________
