Whoah - Rockstar Supernova . . .

OK, so I did catch the finale and here's my review:

BOR-ING.

I know ya'll seem to love the show and I really wanted to get into it, but sadly I did not.

But, I can see why some of you might be less critical b/c when we see the rockers more than a few times, they kind of grow on you and thus you become biased.

Like Toby---seems like a nice guy. I feel bad saying he stinks and is stuck in the 80s. His voice is fantastic, but everything else is so blase', same-old, same-old, you know--BOR-ING.

Dilana--I really, really wanted to root for her. She gives great face (but I desperately want to wash her hair) and has an amazing voice. I'm a big fan of her pipes, definitely. But she's...I don't know...lacking something. Confidence maybe? I mean I know she comes across confident but for me it's an obvious front and I can't stand it. Something about her drives me nuts. She's just a little coo-coo and needs to find herself first.

Magni--what can I say? Nothing. BOR-ING.

I mean nobody's giving me anything fresh & interesting...

Then there's Lucas who's kinda cute when he's not singing and contorting his body in all sorts of weird directions. And that lip gloss-- GROSS! I agree with the bands pick of him, though, for the following reason: Lucas sounds and looks different than any lead singers the band members previously worked with in their claim-to-fame bands. So that will work in their favor as it will not be easily comparable to their old work. Having said that, their new work sucks, pardon my french.

I am happy to know Dave Navarro is NOT part of the group. The first episode I watched (I think I saw a total of three) I thought all four judges were "Supernova". Tommy Lee, though tired, is at least tolerable. Dave Navarro? I just....I just....nope, can't say anything constructive here.

I la la la la looove me some good rock. Sadly, these rockers did not deliever anything salvagable, imo.

OK I just now finished watching, and let me say that the "StupiNova band is going to SUCK ARSE.




I do want to here what Dave and Gilby do with Dilana though, that might be somthing worth buying.

I was looking at the 4 thinking any of the three standing theere could win and oh yeah Lukas is filling a spot.. Song really lacked with him screaching it out, not that it had a whole hell of a lot to begin with...

If I remember correctly, Dilana was in the bottom three once, and Lukas was in there several times. How could he possible have had more votes at the end? I think they just said that they went with americas voting just to justify their pick because they didn't want a woman as a lead singer.

I really wanted to like this band but every time Lukas sings I wanna shut the tv off. Their songs pretty much suck.

I really think they made a bad choice and hopefully they'll regret it. I don't see this band making it very far.

Dilana flat out rocked! Her voice was so powerful and unique. I'm excited to hear what she does with her album thanks to Gilbys offer to let her use his studio.

yea, it's funny how that works if you tally the votes thru the entire show I bet dilana was thechamp.

but she was probably slipping while the skinny,creepy kid was gaining popularity.


But I STILL believe that they took Dilana on tour for a reason.


I think she made out better because she will have the freedom to make her OWN music. with those "rockers" while lukas has to fit what SUPERNOVA wants.


But I;ve heard dilana's msuic online and wasn't very impressed. Maybe the musicians will change that. and THAT is the deal she just got from them.

I read a little blurb today somewhere that says Supernova can't use the name because an existing band called Supernova has done the legal thing to stop them. After creating some name recognition they can't use it. Hilarious.

I think all the "runners up" should have heaved a huge sigh of relief as they were eliminated. Magni and Toby shouldn't have any problems getting a decent record deal and making their own music. And Dilana gets the tour, plus Gilby Clark and Dave Navarro working on her CD? Way better than fronting a band of hasbeens!

Last year INXS couldn't put their egos aside long enough to choose a singer who might take them in a whole new direction. They ended up with a guy who has made a career out of impersonating dead rockstars. (Sorry, Hooked....)

Coming in 2nd was a sweet deal for Marty Casey. His band got to tour with INXS, they've got a CD out, and they're getting radio play. His own music. And I'll bet he's pretty happy with the way things turned out.

This year, these guys didn't want someone who would upstage them, so they picked the whiny freak. They'll do one tour, release one CD and they'll be done. 5 years from now, FreakBoy will be trying to revive his dead career by appearing on Dancing With the Stars!

Oh, and I still believe the whole "Dilana's Slipping and Redemption" routine was staged. I also don't believe the votes matter on American Idol. Its all manipulated for the ratings, and the outcome is determined pretty early on.

Ouch! At least you said 'sorry', thank you. If you haven't heard INXS recently, JD has put himself into the old songs. The back catalog songs are basically the same, but he's made them his. I'm looking forward to seeing what direction their second cd release will bring. Right now, they're still busy on tour in Austrailia, Europe and then back to the US for their 3rd leg of the tour. I saw Marty Casey in concert as the opening act for INXS. Marty Casey was NOT right for INXS. I don't hear anything on Marty Casey anymore. I have heard two studio recordings of Lukas doing two of the SN songs and he sounded much better, at least you could understand what he was saying, and........I didn't have to look at him singing! I'm waiting for Dilana's cd!!!!

I can't say, I'd be thrilled. I don't intend on buying anything of Lukas and Supernova. I must admit that after hearing a couple of studio release cuts, that Lukas does indeed sound better. He isn't as muffled sounding as he was on Rockstar.
