I didn't read the entire thread but I'm sure there was something somewhere along the lines of you making the switch from sheep to cows...what, cows more cooperative or something?
:D:D:D

actually they're not... they're more of a challenge... they're more scared than sheep. :D

Not a bad one, but it is a lot like mine.[:/] You need to get a big ass John Deere one if you're going to be a real farmer.;)

Chris

i will never buy a big ass john deere. they're over priced and the staff at the local dealership are snobbish assholes. i won't buy them just on principle.

and besides, my "farm" is just 16 acres, so I don't have any need for a big ass tractor. this one suits me fine. it's all i could afford anyway! :S:D those fuckers are EXPENSIVE!!!

Not that I'm a cow expert, but you would want a Holstein for milking. People don't eat Holsteins. Some people have sex with them...but they're weird

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are several breeds of cattle that are for milking. Jersey, Gurnsey.

I feel so dumb when it comes to cow matters.[:/]

But, in my defense, I did say that I was no cow expert.:)

first pic... kinda dark, cos well, the barn is dark. this is the all black one, the bigger of the two.

My friend in Boise just sent me an update on Sir Charles Roast ... he's at the plant and he's a whopping 1548 lb Holstein!

Wish I were closer to her to enjoy the upcoming barbecue ...

Let's have a moment of silence for Sir Chuck ...

Okay, let's pray for really good steak now!

Scott what do you think? I'm thinking they could be ready for the BBQ by next Labor Day.B|

-----------------------------------------------------------

At about 500 pounds and little less than a year off I would have to say yes, the cookout can be scheduled for next Labor Day. From the sounds of it Michael, you've really done your homework and know all this already. :)

At the risk of getting in cow trouble again, I don't believe you eat Holsteins.
