lummy 4 #51 September 28, 2006 Quote40-50 inch widescreens are for the bedroom! Go big and get a really nice HD projection.....nothing like having a 100 inch screen in your living room with the sound system to match. Watching sports, Xbox360 and movies in HD that large at home is something that just needs to be seen. Plus, it is somewhat portable - just pack it up and bring it to the house that is hosting this year's Super Bowl and you have a better setup than most bars I'll second that!!! I had just bought my 106" screen in time for last years superbowl and it was AWESOME!! I even went and bought a 9x12' screen for summertime movies at the Lummy drivein It's been nothing but widescreen since. Tho they are extremely hard to watch on the regular tv nowI promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. Guest #52 September 28, 2006 I buy widescreen, of course. As for the black bars, it's probably been mentioned further down in this thread (too lazy to look - sorry) that the newest CE televisions are a 16:9 ratio, not 4:3 as has been the case for 60 years...so...no more black bars. Unfortunately, by the time most people can afford a 16:9 set, the formatting will deliberately have been changed to make all your widescreen DVDs incompatible (e.g., Hi Def-only systems), thus forcing you to buy your movies all over again in the new and improved format. It is thusly that the biomass is continuously trolled. And they wonder why people make, buy and sell bootlegs......Arr, matey. mh"The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."
