Some of my friends absolutely have to call back every time they miss a call to find out who it was. It's one thing if a missed call could mean some kind of business, that I could understand. If I don't recognize the number, especially the ones that show as "Unknown" or "Private," I'm not about to answer them! I pay the bill. I can choose who I want to talk to and who I don't. IF they leave a message, I'll listen to it and decide whether I'm going to call them back or not. If they don't have the consideration to leave a message and it just shows up as a missed call? Screw them.
