lawrocket 3 #1 September 27, 2006 http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-cowboys-tosuicideattempt&prov=ap&type=lgns League and team officials stated last night that Owens was hospitalized due to an allergic reaction. However, the police reportindicates that he may have taken 35 pain pills last night, as related by a friend who made the 911 call. This will certainly be interesting, and I want to see more facts come out. But could this explain his past behaviors? It must be tough to maintain the image of "T.O." - it would be even tougher if all it has ben is "image." There is obviously more to the man. My wife is hotter than your wife. Taylor610 0 #2 September 27, 2006 There is a ton of media going on right now. The EMS and Fire Dept. responders that were there have tried to stay a2way from answering questions, police are saying what happened is none of their business, it wasn't a crime, and Kim Etheridge, who made the call and was the first one to say he was trying to commit suicide and is also his publicist is now changing her story and saying it was an allergic reaction. ESPN is now saying he will make a formal statement from his home at 1:00 pm. 5 minutes and we will know what he has to say, Dallas fire and rescue are saying with out question the T.O said yes, he was trying to hurt him self... Wierd stuff...

I agree with you about T.O and I certainly don't have a lot of love for him either. If you really want to keep this out of SC post some boobies!! LisaM 0 #7 September 27, 2006 And it'll make for a dandy conversation with my kid who is an Eagles fan. I have never been shy telling him why I cannot stand the man. Taylor610 0 #8 September 27, 2006 Well he has just postponed his formal statement to 3:15pm. What a dumb a$$. The fire and rescue people there are saying that they were there with paramedics, he and his publicist Kim Ehteridge and his MINISTER were there. They all indicated that he was trying to hurt himself... The dude has experienced meltdown from the pressure, it happens. He needs help, not a quick release from the hospital and a formal press statement. If they care about him at all they will get him away from the media and into some kind of treatment program. Will my anger land this thread in SC? ugh this man gets on my last nerve - i live in wilmington and philly is the closest city - so thats where all of the major news comes from - last year when he was bitching about his contract that was ALL that was on the news.. they flew helicopters over his house - and when he saw this he decided to go outside with dumbells and do a workout for show... it's a shame that he feels like his life of playing a game and getting paid millions of dollars is so hard... maybe the fact that money isn't everything and being an ass isn't the way to go, is finally catching up with him... seriously i hope that man gets help - but for goodness sake i'm sick of him being the only newsworthy story lately... phew... ok sorry for the rant... done"life does throw curveballs sometimes but it doesn't mean we shouldn't still swing for the homerun" ~ me

Taylor610 0 #12 September 27, 2006 3:15 ET. I have a class at 2:30 so I won't see it. He talked to Michael Irving (another one I don't have much love for) and said that he did not try to commit suicide, that he had an allergic reaction. Dallas fire and rescue are saying, he can say what he wants to today, but last night, he, his publicist and his Minister all confirmed he has been depressed and he was trying to hurt himself. They reported that he had taken 35 prescription pain killers. T.O. is saying he had taken a "supplement" and they are not sure what caused the reaction. He has been on these pain killers for 8 days prior to any reaction. All of this latest info is coming from ESPN and info that they are receiving from Michael Irving... LisaM 0 #13 September 27, 2006 So it won't matter. He is just going to say it was an allergic reaction. It's in an hour and fifteen minutes? ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?
Taylor610 0 #14 September 27, 2006 So it won't matter. He is just going to say it was an allergic reaction. It's in an hour and fifteen minutes? *** Sad but true. I do know that Bill Parcels doesn't play and I will be very interested to see how he and the Cowbys handle this situation. Of course I have always said that my 2 favorite teams are the Carolina Panthers and whoever is playing Dallas! 1 hour and fifteen minutes...I'll miss it, but it doesn't matter, he has made it plain it was a reaction... lummy 4 #15 September 27, 2006 I'm kinda surprised the hospital let him leave if her really did try to kill himself. Maybe it's different in Tx, but out here, the hospital can commit the person for 3 days to make sure they aren't a danger to theirselvesI promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. lawrocket 3 #17 September 27, 2006 Something like this may be a turning point for him. Owens is a human, and has other needs that money can't buy. You know, when I was living in Orange County, practicing law in a downtown LA high rise with a nice view of Pershing Square, I was gigging a couple of nights a week, attending hockey games and basketball games, partying and barhopping, skydiving, golfing, etc. Doing everything that everybody else thought indicated a man who had no complaints. It is amazing how unhappy I was. Owens has an image. He did it to himself. He's a great receiver - I'll give him that. But he started taking himself far too seriously. In a constant effort to be "T.O." Terrell Owens would get lost. Really - people close to him say he is not like "T.O." He thinks he needs to be liked and loved. He thinks needs to let people know he's the best. He thinks he is not appreciated. Re: appreciation - a big complaint that he had was that the Eagles were "classless" in failing to recognize his 100th touchdown catch. The week before, they honored his 100th touchdown - he had scored one off a reverse years ago. Something like that is just what I what have done a few years ago when I was insecure and unhappy. Hopefully, he can allow himself to be himself and knock off with the marketing of "T.O." - a person as fictional as Alice Cooper (played by Vincent Furnier) and George "The Animal" Steele (played by William Myers). Sad, isn't it? Had they held him, it would seal the deal on what happened. As a public figure, it could be bad for him. I wonder, though, whether he is released under supervision of some sort. LisaM 0 #20 September 27, 2006 Ok I watched the press conference. If he really did try to commit suicide he'd look a lot worse than he did. I think it was blown out of proportion. People having thein stomach pumped from an OD are not on tv looking perfecly normal 13 hours later. Someone asked the publicist why she said he was depressed. She said she nor TO ever said that. She said, and I quote: "Terrell has 25 million reasons to live" NICE! I'd fire her butt after a statement like that. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?
