AggieDave 6 #52 September 25, 2006 I'm a very well trained driver, having been through driving courses that are quite advanced and not typically available to the public. However, that does not mean that I'm a super-badass driver. Mistakes can be and are made, road conditions take hold, vehicle defects come into effect and lets not forget the most important variable. Every other driver on the road. The more training I've received and the better driver I become, the more conservative I become as a driver.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." matt1215 0 #63 September 25, 2006 QuoteI can barely handle the freakin exit to my apt complex, but only got a stick this week.... When I got my first stick, the hand-brake came in real handy on uphill starts. You just have to feel out how much to come off the clutch so you don't roll back or stall while getting your foot to the gas. Downhill starts are a lot easier, I roll a little and start off in second.
lisamariewillbe 1 #64 September 25, 2006 Quote I roll a little and start off in second. Thats what Ive been doing alot, but my handbook (yes I am a dork and read the handbook) says not to do it but if there are others around I dont want to stall in front of them. Its fun though, esp when I squeal the tires in my mom taxi Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this

simplyputsi 0 #70 September 25, 2006 QuoteQuote...I stop at stop signs LISAMARIE! Wake up! Your dreaming again! You are one funny guy!!!! I live on this road that is one way in one way out kind of thing. Speed limit is posted 25. There are bike lanes on both sides of the street and there is a median with trees and stuff for most of the road. This is a busy area for foot and bike traffic because of the bike lanes. Thus my challenge and point taking begins. I slam the foot to the floor as soon as I turn in. Redline my baby as much as possible. I take points for each person I can get to stop or jump onto the shoulder. It's awesome. Think my top speed down that bad boy is 100 mph. People like to wave at me as I blow by them I just wave back sometimes with both hands. Lucky for me there are no stop signs, I wouldn't stop at them anyway. Lisa I must thank you for this. You rule!!!Skymama's #2 stalker -

BillyVance 34 #73 September 25, 2006 QuoteQuoteStopping at stop signs is a sign of weakness. I agree. You have to seriously learn to TAKE the road, you know dominate it. Even if you have to pass on the right. That's what I do... I have been known to pass on the right shoulder if I'm being blocked long enough...
