I miss drinking

Recommended Posts

44 days left.

O.K., so what's going to be your poison of choice when you break your alcohol fast???

Something really old and rare from France or throwin' back shots at the bar nearest the finish line?:D

It's my understanding from previous posts that he's going to be in a marathon...so he's sworn off the hootch until after.

Peter correct me if I've missed something.

Peter, I'm impressed. Perhaps one of these days I shall attempt a similar feat.

The abstaining part, not the marathon.

Until then, I raise my Newcastle to you, your health and your success in beating your goal time in 44 days.

Cheers! ;)

you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

89 days down as of today. I feel like a convict.

Especially when I get texts from my "friends," like tonight, that say things like, "Hey, we're all at Alli's. Getting wasted - come join. Good drinks - people brought blow."

Sigh. I'm going to sleep.

It's not that wonderful. Trust me. :)

I disagree :)I've never needed alcohol to have fun and I'm an alcoholic:ph34r::ph34r:

Of course I can - that's not the issue. It's not the abstaining part that's hard, it's the not going out with friends part.

And I'm not-not going out with friends because I don't trust myself to not drink - I'm not-not going out with friends because I'm up at 5:30 every morning to do a minimum of six miles. If I go out with friends, the six miles sucks royal donkey dick.

So it's just easier to not have a life until it's over.

I'm not such a huge drinker (other than being a vodka snob), so I don't so much miss the alcohol, as I do the hanging out part.

I miss the alcohol a little bit. But the act of going out with friends and sleeping a bit later inthe morning - that part I miss.

I miss it to! I'm a dinner with wine kind of person but I'd rather enjoy a pain-free knee than a glass of wine. So there you go. Hopefully just a few more days. Then I'll be a cheap drunk again. Woohoo!

I'm surprised you're not lamenting the blisters on your feet, which alcohol will only make worse!!!

I know how that is. I didn't drink for like 3 or 4 days recently. Thank God the bar opened Wed night. Had a few Amstel and then finished the night off with a good amount of Cpt Morgan and coke. It was sure tasty........and damn did I have fun hanging out with a lot of old friends that I haven't seen in a long time. However..........when I heard my radio crackle at 630 AM.........I was wishing I had gone to bed at 10PM like I said I was. :D

On marathons............that's like 26 miles right? Can't you get a cab? Is someone going to be chasing you with a sharp object the whole way? Why in the world would ANYONE voluntarily run 26 miles all at once? :D

Much respect for going this long dude. After a few weeks of serious binging i have decided to quit for a month. Four days in last night and i was out with a few mates, i must say i was SO tempted just to say screw it and have a beer. I held out though. It feels good.

Good luck to you!
