NWFlyer 2 #5 September 20, 2006 Seattle's pretty safe overall, and my neighborhood's great. I remember reading somewhere that we have a higher property crime rate, but a much lower violent crime rate. And considering the only time I've been victim of a crime in this town was when my car was broken into... I'd agree. "There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke

DavidST 0 #7 September 20, 2006 My Town is starting to get worse as the Gangs move out from the DC area. We have become a hotspot for MS-13. Ran my first shooting call a couple of weeks ago and i think we have had 4-5 stabbings in the last two months. As a general rule, the better it felt when you said it, the more trouble it's going to get you into. Tonto 1 #9 September 20, 2006 Quote Ran my first shooting call a couple of weeks ago and i think we have had 4-5 stabbings in the last two months. That's funny. Johannesburg has about 8 major hospitals. Each one has about 20 - 30 stabbings or shootings on every Friday and Saturday night. You can double that on payday. Seeing 4 - 5 stabbings in 2 months makes the average DZ more dangerous than your city! Crime doesn't bother me as much as boredom, and I suspect it's boring where you are. tIt's the year of the Pig. DavidST 0 #10 September 20, 2006 Oh i agree but i live out in a small subarb of DC so most of the crime is still in the city or the closers burbs. Its just pushing out my way I don't think we had 4-5 stabbing (crime related anyway) all of last year. And the shooting we had was some kids Spraying a row of townhouses with an Uzi in retaliation for a drug deal gone bad. Actually not very boring here at all cause i live about 30 min from DC where all the fun is As a general rule, the better it felt when you said it, the more trouble it's going to get you into. chanti 0 #14 September 21, 2006 Quote100 murders! We have 5000. Wow. I've never seen that graph before. That really puts things into perspective. Sad thing is, it seems to be escalating - what can be done? We don't have the manpower to deal with all the crime. -Chanti-
Tonto 1 #15 September 21, 2006 Nothing can be done. They kill you, it's a murder. Fight back and kill them, it's a murder. People die. Better them than me. tIt's the year of the Pig.
