VinZ40K 0 #1 April 25, 2007 I'm a jumper relatively new to the sport but undoubtedly hooked Rig: Atom (DOM: 1/99) AAD: Cypres1 (DOM: 10/98) Reserve: Techno 155 (DOM: 1/99) Main: Electra 170 (DOM: 11/00) Exact number of jumps is not known, but the inspecting rigger guessed about 300. Cypres needs it's 4 years check, plus there are some other cost to make it ready to jump. In total the ready to jump chute would cost EUR 2300,- (about 3100 USD). Is this a reasonable deal for this rig?

jkong 0 #3 April 25, 2007 Yeah, i agree. Shop around for a little while before you decide to buy your rig and you will find something you like even more.
dragon2 2 #4 April 25, 2007 Yup it sounds like a good price. Provided the rig fits you right and you're not too heavy (155 reserve). Who're you're shopping with? Have you checked out Eric at Skydivesupplies, Teuge yet, he has a lot of 2nd hand starter rigs. To the others, don't forget prices are way higher here, and to Vincent, it's no use trying to ask mostly Americans about European prices ciel bleu, Saskia

And I realized looking over at the classifieds here that in Europe prices are indeed a lot higher
diablopilot 2 #6 April 25, 2007 IMO way to expensive for that gear at that age. No more than $2500 USD and thats in good condition. What other costs besides the Cypres service? That's gonna cost you about $300 to $350---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

dragon2 2 #8 April 26, 2007 Read my reply to him above. Other costs: repack+yearly check, SB for the AAD cutter location change on Atoms > 1994, just to name a few. ciel bleu, Saskia
damion75 0 #9 April 27, 2007 I'm with Diablopilot on this one. I was going to suggest about E1700 max, and I think that would be quite generous. Given the age of the gear, it is likely that there are quite a few jumps on it so as mentioned there is not only the Cypres service etc to look forward to, but also new line sets, checks on the PC, risers, links. Time to look elsewhere I suggest... sorry! DZ.com classifieds? Remember that my opinion is worth what you paid for it... *************** Not one shred of evidence supports the theory that life is serious - look at the platypus.
