She was very close to her sister, and after she died of breast cancer it helped in her grieving process to be able to place flowers every now and then at her grave - she told me I should consider my family's wishes in this since they are the ones left behind. I dunno. I still want the ash dive, but I see her point now. This is why I want the memorial stone next to my Father's grave. It might be appropriate to leave some ashes there. When a body is cremated there are a lot more ashes than one would expect. It's fairly easy to split it up - some here, some there. Oh, and before they cremated me, I would obviously want any organs that could be reused, probably not my liver , to be distributed to those in need. How about standing my body up against a pole at a street intersection and hanging a sign around my neck that says, "Free to good home..." or something like that? selbbub78 0 #38 September 7, 2006 i always kid with my mom to save the money and just throw me out with the garbage, but in reality i want to be cremated (my mom does know this too, just in case). Why cremated? because I want my ashes scattered around in certain areas that mean a lot to me. My summer cottage, in a cave somewhere (although I'm not sure which one), some in the sky, and some at a secret location that I spent much of my childhood. My mother hates the fact that we've had this conversation, but she does know... Jib 0 #45 September 7, 2006 Growing up, I'd always wanted to be cremated and have my ashes spread at sea. But, when my father died and was to be cremated, I had a strange feeling about it. About the time he was actually cremated, I was jarred awake up from a dead sleep. So, no for me. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. slug 1 #47 September 7, 2006 No Life insurance, no kids just the BossSo We've decided we want to die at home so no one except the "Boss" will know when we're gone. We've already bought a nice freezer for the remains.. No offical death, burial etc so the boss can continue to collect our retirement annutity as long as she wants to. After the Boss is gone and someone pulls the plug on the freezer Wouldn't mind being cremated together. R.I.P.
Scoop 0 #48 September 7, 2006 I now want to be cremated because they are talking of exuming bodies and burying them on top of each other or possibly vertically due to the lack of room now in the UK. Burn me and throw me in the wind please. I don't wanna be rubbing up against some stranger
Muenkel 0 #49 September 7, 2006 Ironically, if I want to save my family some money; I'd end up in my family's mausoleum (sp?). It was built back in the 30's. My great-grandparents, grandparents and 1 aunt are buried there. I think it's where my parents will go when they die. Sheenster303 0 #50 September 7, 2006 I'm in a sociology class right now that is all about death and dying. Last week, we discussed this very question. I am not sure what I want actually. I would kind of like to be cremated because it takes up less space, but I know my family would like to bury me in a traditional funeral. We watched a video about this old man who had his wife's head frozen and he had the ashes of the rest of her body that he kept in little capsules that he would shallow like a pill everyday. It was really weird.I'm so funny I crack my head open! P.M.S. #
