lisamariewillbe 1 #1 September 6, 2006 As I sit and write this at Duckwaters place Im not able to sleep... after feeding me a london broil, green beans and Smirnoff we sit and watch videos of what I will be doing tomorrow. I ask "Is this more dangerous then skydiving?" he says "Fuck ya, mess up skydiving and you might live, mess up in this and you are fucked" So what am I doing tomorrow? I am riding bitch in a Waco Taperwing, we will be in formations with 2 pitts, a husky and a cub. We will then loop, hammerhead, snap roll and then apperently the rest I have to wait and see. All the while he will be teaching my boyfriend how to fly. So this may very well be my fairwell, the webbing on my harness is apperently strong. We shall see. It was on my list to go in a plane and doing aerobatics but dammit I think this might be a little much. Im so excited but scared shitless considering I cant even fly in a helicopter without freaking. Ill miss this place.... Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this

lisamariewillbe 1 #19 September 7, 2006 No she, I mean me, didnt die. I actually cant even put it into words just how incredible today was. However I am going to try, and without trying to spell right or fixing... just all from what is in my lil ole head... I became much less nervous as we pulled up to Joes place, he lives on a private (yet public) air strip and in his backyard is his hanger. We see these four very beautiful aircraft. A husky, a cub, pitts special and a waco taperwing. They were just finishing the oil change on the Waco as the introductions went all around. The boys started playing pool while me and Nathan checked out the menu for today. I was a mix of giddy and scared, dying to get belted in yet wanting to say "no thanks I am not feeling well" After meeting Joe and hearing of his experience with american airlines as well as learning the history of his waco (its built exactly like the 1929 original wacos but with newer materials....vintage yet not, and so flippen beautiful) there was no way I was going to back out of this, since there are only 4 of these exact aircrafts in the states. Once all the planes were pulled out of the hanger , another of duckys friends was flying in a different pitts special and giving us a preview of what was to come. Next thing I know Joes explaining to me how to release myself from the plane and how to land in a round parachute. I practiced in my head a good dozen times.... RED - BLACK - CLEAR - RESERVE - PLF - BROKEN BONES. Next thing I know is I am calm as I climb into the waco. Joe helps buckle me in and explains somethings about what I will be seeing... I don the headset as I watch Nathan and Ducky get into the husky and we are off. This is a grass strip and we were at the wrong end to leave so during the taxi we talked alot. Joe was fully aware of the importance of this to me, even prior to me showing up and seemed to be as giddy as me. At this point I had no fear, only excitement. Not only did Joe prove to be a kick ass pilot, his demeanor was warm, and I didnt feel out of place at all. By this point we are lined up next to the husky and now the engine is really going. We were taking off first with the husky to follow right behind while Jim Wallace was going to get pictures of the take off. The difference in this open cockpit was amazing. Almost serene. My first exposure was a high speed low fly by, and by low I mean literally a few feet above the top of the blades of grass. By now I am hooting and hollaring and Joe is laughing and says "ya like that huh" I pretty much screamed "Fuck ya whooooo hoooo" and on the hoooo we go straight up...... FAST......... we plane out and well this is long enough and will never quite describe what peace it was to be this close to nature and machine so Ill shorten it with us doing about 20 mins of some bad ass shit. Approx 10 barrel rolls (not all at once, some stopped on 90s , 180s, and upside down flying is the shit) we did several loops, some russian thingy, a formation low pass, and well enough things to have me smiling and daydreaming of the bliss I felt in those 20 mins of the most peaceful, energetic, wicked, and not scarey at all moments to last me until I do it again. Joe made it more special by how much fun he had taking me on the ride of my life. The only part that made me nervous was the formation flying. I could literally see the expressions on nathans and duckys faces as they took pictures. And yes Bobbi, once we landed and we started to taxi to the hanger, the tears started. When Joe asked how I felt, all I could say was "wow" That sums it up. WOW. Jim Wallace and Ducky got some amazing pictures, and Cody bear went in the cub and loved it but I must end this as the bonfire ADHD now has everyone saying "shiney thing" and its all wasting bandwith.... Thanks Ducky... (duckwater) for the most amazing two days ever. I love being scared.... it made it more exciting Link to pictures will come tomorrow....Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this
