freeflir29 0 #27 February 11, 2004 Quote I was thinking more of the trade and unit organisation nothing more Ahhh....it's OK. It never ceases to amaze me the amount of people that have NO idea that my military occupation even existed. When describing it I usually got to the basic desription of "I went out with Army units of all shapes and sizes and dropped bombs on things that they were scared of." osuskydiver 0 #30 February 11, 2004 I will be getting paid to skydive for at least the next 3 years....I am sure active duty is going to be a blast! I am also excited about attending airborne school, I love challenges. Although people I know that have gone through airborne school says it is a joke....it will be exciting jumping out of an aircraft at 1200ft. By the time you read this you have already read it. dgskydive 0 #35 February 11, 2004 Jump school is a lot of fun. At least I had fun while I was there. As a skydiver you will get picked on a shit load if you let them know what you do. Iwill never forget the push ups I had to do just for watching there Demo team land in the Tower training area. Just keep quite, get your ass in shape they will run the shit out of you for the first two weeks. That was the biggest source of drop outs in our class. All the recycles from dropping out of runs. The jumping is the easy part! Wait till you hit the suspended harness and the swing landing trainer! Those are LOTS of fun! I saw two people get there teeth knocked out using the swing landing trainer. HAVE FUN!!!! I wish I had that part of my life to look forward to again. I was even AWOL once just to go see a friend from high school graduate about 6 months after I did.Dom

osuskydiver 0 #37 February 11, 2004 Yeah, I have heard stories about the swing landing trainer also. I consider myself to be in great shape, so hopefully I will have no trouble with that. I plan on keepin a low profile, act like I have never seen an airplane before. By the time you read this you have already read it.
