Slowfaller 0 #31 November 8, 2001 QuoteForget the Cypres for now, put the money toward staying current. Lack of currency is more likely to kill you then not having an AAD.The Cypres will be the last thing I buy. I just think it's a really good thing to have, I'd kind of be freaked to go on my head w/o an AAD. Staying current is definatly important. I make by doing 1 or 2 jumps every other weekend. Not just bullshit jumps but fun/educational jumps. ( Ex. canopy control, sit/belly/sit/belly transitions. )CHris" You're so proud of your physique but you still want your cake. diver123 0 #32 November 8, 2001 124... I'd like to be at 2000, but I'm not... :)124 x 18 dollars per jump equals : $2, 232.003,000 for my brand new rig and 1,600 for my first one equals : 4,600.00 bringing my total to : $8,832.00 post aff. If you add that in there : 1,231.00 my total goes up to : $10,063.00 ! Then, just for accuracy you've got to add in the 6 tandem skydives I purchased for friends and family during the first year trying to get everyone to try it for a grand total of : $10, 957.00 !!! I made my first skydive on March 5th of 2000 so in a year and a half I spent almost 11,000 dollars!!! Holy crap! Maybe I should just try and forget about that!!! "pull high! It's lower than you think..."
jumpervali 2 #33 November 8, 2001 Try 50 AFF training jumps with an evaluator at $57 a pop just to get ready for AFF camp. That was in 1 week. But, I do get paid to jump as a result of it. The best year I've got was 361 jumps in 96. That was also the time I went from my A to my D, skipped the B & C. That was the cost of 2 jumps. Man I love this shit! Now I co-own a dropzone.HELLLLLLLLLPjumpervali

Oh, I know, right Pammi? Heh...Whuffo: (incredulously) You jump out of AIRPLANES? As in, more than once? How many times have you done it?Me: Well, I have 60 jumps...Whuffo: 60???????? SniperCJ 0 #39 November 8, 2001 Diver,,Dont ever, EVER do that again!Jumps are $19 each. Thats all the money related math you need to do.When you add it all up, you just get depressed. Then, cuz youre depressed you have to go jump to get un-depressed. Then you think about MORE money you spent skydiving, and depressed again, have to jump again,,,ad nauseum.See the cycle??!!Just tell yourself,,jumps are less than $20! Thats CHEAP!Whoo hoooo! Go JUMP!
PhreeZone 20 #40 November 8, 2001 Quotejumps are less than $20WHAT??? I pay $20 per ticket! But then again I'd rather pay that extra Dollar to get something nice to jump (like our casa) then something like an over worked, under powered Cessna.... cptnstratn 0 #41 November 8, 2001 Like everyone else, not enough! But, since you asked, 270 (still a newbie!). Hope to pass 300 before the end of the year. Woohoo!Blue Skies,Steve
Tee 0 #42 November 8, 2001 Quote Jumps are $19 each. Thats all the money related math you need to do. BA HA HA HA HA! I pay $29 a jump at one of the dz's I frequent. Now THAT adds up, especially for a 3 cessna dz that only goes to 10,500! The other one, thankfully, is $80 for a 4 jump package. Tee

Spectrejumper 0 #49 November 8, 2001 503. My first jump was July 18, 1999. Not too bad for only jumping six months a year. Now I have enough for my tandem rating. I just have to wait for my three year anniversary. I also have to get some clarification on the cutaway requirement. Do you think it counts if you cut away after the reserve was already out and fully inflated????Mike D-23312"It's such a shame to spend your time away like this...existing."
