Some parachutes made exclusively for Crew are not at all suitable for general skydiving. When you say you're new, how new are you exactly? cadet142 0 #4 May 14, 2007 Last season i finished my training. I couldnt continue to get my A lic b/c i ran out of money and maxed 1 credit card, so i plan to get my A this season. i'm looking for my 1st rig before i start so that i can savein the long run. if it helps the rig i was looking at, its canpoy was a Flight Concepts 7-Cell main CReW 245 Sharpchuter F-111 Canopy and a Raven II 211 7-cell reserve....out of a dolphin container. I don't know anything about the Sharpchuter but for gear of that age it had better be cheap - really, really cheap. With an F-111 main you would also absolutely need to check how many jumps it had done to make sure it's not totally ragged out. That container might also limit the type of jumps you could do, and since you have freeflying listed in your profile that is something you will need to consider. If you do get a rig before you start jumping again please make sure that you have at the very least visited your local DZ and talked to the instructors/ riggers/ gear store there first so that you know what you should be looking for. You won't lose any money driving there to hang out for the weekend, you could lose money by buying a rig you wanted to get rid of 20 jumps later.Good luck.Do you want to have an ideagasm? So it might not be so old. But still probably not a great canopy choice... Dave

Dave I do apologise, I was under the impression it had been discontinued. I'll amend my point and say that with any F-111 main you should check that it doesn't have too many jumps on it.Do you want to have an ideagasm?
