ACMESkydiver 0 #1 August 30, 2006 I've had it with being confused with my less-than-reputable same-name in-law. I am SICK TO DEATH of getting her debt collectors, her lawsuits, her ex's, her child custody crap, her ex-inlaw's gifts for her kids, and her rotten credit confused with my own. I'm done with it. So I don't want to give up my legal first & middle names entirely; I mean after all, I really do like 'em, and my mommy and daddy gave them to me , and it's what I was born with... I am for sure changing my legal name to 'Jaye', which is what everyone has called me for over 13 years...but I was thinking about keeping my *real* first name and middle name and just making them both my middle name. The question is, hyphenated or not? My *real* first and middle names were Jennifer Lynn: Jaye Jennifer Lynn Pxxxxx Jaye Jennifer-Lynn Pxxxxx I dunno? Pros? Cons? Most of my accounts are already changed over to read 'Jaye JL Pxxxxx'. I'm just wondering what it should *officially* be. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. Lindercles 0 #2 August 30, 2006 I'd go with hyphenated. That way you can make sure people get it right and don't assume you're some bumpkin like Mary Ann or Betty Sue. Imagine people saying both names really fast. "Hi JayeJennifer, nice to meet you." Gross.

slug 1 #13 August 31, 2006 Hi "A" Be careful what you wish forWe met a guy at Kapow, he worrked for boeing and wanted to be the first peron in the phone book at work. At that time he just went to the courthouse filled out the paperwork to change his name to AAron (only one name)paid the fee saw the judge who asked him a couple o simple questions, avoiding debtor's? Avoiding cops? OK your name is now offically AAron the guy thought there would be a waiting period before his name change was offical. It was instantOnly cost the guy $25-$50 no lawyer etc. Only peeps who gave him a hassle was the credit card company they wanted him to have a First and Last name just like everyone else AAron was a issaquah jumper (I think) but you could always tell when he was at kapow wore some bells on his container. Enjoy R.I.P.

True for the past, however the future should be easier. ) So hopefully, when some new ex-boyfriend or collection agency/debtor comes looking, they will skip over 'Jaye' in the phone book and on deed records. -But yes you're right, it will to some extent always be there. However, it will be easier for medical appointments (we both use the same hospital/clinic system ) and on my kids' school info and various other things...I am so tired of saying "No, Jennifer Marie P. is my S-I-L; I'm Jennifer Lynn P., aka 'Jaye'. Please remove Jenny's info from mine." She even had an $11,000 lien placed against MY home because she skipped out on a debtor and they thought they had 'found' her on deed info based on first name, last name, and county...~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. I already filled out all of the paperwork with 4 names, no hyphen...but I think I'll change it before I take it down to the court house tomorrow. We'll see. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
