ACMESkydiver 0 #1 August 21, 2006 If you want! Jaleesa Marie has never been to a camp before and she was very nervous when I dropped her off last night. She's going to a freaking INCREDIBLE camp; she gets to swim and boat and ride horses and do archery and tons of stuff...but she didn't know anybody there at all, and she's a bit of a wall flower when she's out of her element (I don't know where she got that from ). They deliver e-mail messages to campers every day, and I thought it would be so cool for her if she got a BUNCH of them! Send it to: MRcamper@cristacamps.com Subject line needs to read: "Jaleesa/Eckie Eckie Eckie Big Valley 11" (Her counselor's camp name is Eckie Eckie Eckie. Ah, kids. ) Anyhoo, if ya wanna wish her many fun times at camp, and say you're a skydiver, or whatever, that would just make her day. Here's the best pic of her I have access to at the moment...she is 10 years old. THANKY!!! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. ACMESkydiver 0 #5 August 21, 2006 QuoteYou're such a cool mom. I'm just trying to keep up with the kids, man. Apparently she needs a care package with tons of sugary delights in it, or so I was told when I dropped her off. We'll see. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

Geesh I cannot look at that child with those big ole' alligator tears just hanging on her lower lashes like that! I almost started crying! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

ACMESkydiver 0 #13 August 21, 2006 Thank you, guys and girls! For those of you that don't know, little Jaleesa has a tough life, we'll just say it like it is. Her twin brothers are severely disabled, and she is our second set of eyes and ears; she is the temporary babysitter when I have to throw a load into the wash. She keeps an eye on them and helps make sure the doors are all locked to prevent them from running away and running out into the street; she is our angel, and she is the biggest child advocate for Autism you will ever meet. I don't know about any other kid at that camp, but Jaleesa Marie had to earn her spot. She has had to take on additional responsibilities that no other little kid I know has had to shoulder. She has put herself into harm's way (stand between one attacking twin and the other) to keep her brothers safe. What other 10 year old girl do you know of that has to sleep with her door locked to keep from getting jumped on by her brothers at 3 in the morning? She is my treatment research ally and helps to train new caregivers on the idiosyncrasies of her brothers. She is their public defender when some would-be tormentor scoffs at them in a grocery store or restaurant. She's amazing. And man do I miss her already. Guys/girls if you could drop her a line sometime this week I think it would be just awesome. Thanks to everyone that already has. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

ACMESkydiver 0 #17 August 22, 2006 QuoteI don't quite know what to say. To the Sprout? Just tell her that you heard people talking on the internet about what an AMAZING KID she is!!! And she KNOWS who you are, Clint!!! Tell her that you're Turtle!!! She'll know you! A while ago when you and I were on the phone she told a caregiver that mommy was talking to 'The Turtle'. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. Rookie120 0 #23 August 22, 2006 Oh I used to have so much fun at camp. Of course e-mail wasnt even invented back then yet so we would get letters. They would hand them out after lunch. If you got more than 5 a day you had to jump off the high dive with your clothes on. Same went for if you got a package. I miss being a kid! She will have a lot of fun and will beg you to go back next year. E-mail sentIf you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
