So, it will be ok with you someday if you have someone at your door saying, "I'm so sorry for killing your beloved pet, but you'll be glad to know there is no damage to my or the other guy's car"? Totally agree...and if it was my cat/doggie/kid...I would most likely do more damage to the car and driver than the fender bender accident. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him? How about, "But thankfully, I didn't slide off the road, into your front yard killing your kids where they were playing." ?? Seriously, the "defensive driving" or "driver's ed" doctrine on "animal avoidance" is centered primarily on wild animals. Brake if you can, but don't "panic stop" (pushing the brake pedal through the floor). So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! Squeak 17 #28 August 25, 2006 QuoteI carry full coverage on the car, so all I am responsible for is the deductible. No one was hurt, not even the cat... Hell, I was still waking up! You admit to this and then asdk for sympathy, WHY?. you should be thanking your lucky stars that it wasn't a little kid running from the side. Wake your arse up BEFORE you start moving a lethal weapon aroundYou are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing? jeremy556 0 #30 August 25, 2006 Quote Gee..., I am glad I wasn't RIDING MY FUCKING MOTORCYCLE IN FRONT OF YOU! +1 People don’t seem to take automobile crashes (they aren’t really accidents, more like negligence) very seriously because it is usually just a case of “insurance goes up, cars get fixed” but it can easily severely injure or kill people. udder 0 #31 August 25, 2006 If it makes you feel any better. I've personally nearly written off my car swerving to try hit a cat...and a dog. And a few seagulls."In one way or the other, I'm a bad brother. Word to the motherf**ker." Eazy-E
Michele 1 #32 August 25, 2006 QuoteLove= Del Sol Lust = S2000 Tee hee. I've discovered it's possible to both lust and love the S2000. Interesting comment my Dad made about my driving the first day in the S2000. "You don't follow very close, do you?" while we're traveling 70 miles an hour and I've got about 8-9 car lengths between me and the car in front. "Nope" said me, "especially when traveling at this speed in a car I don't know well." Shari, I'm glad everyone is all right. As Dave said, it's called "accident" for a reason. It was totally your fault, though, regardless of reason. Leave adequate room between you and the car in front of you. Use your brakes when needed (including not hitting an animal, child, or tree), and **please** be awake when you drive. Do what it takes to modify the behavior which got you there, and you'll be just fine.
