soulshine 0 #1 August 23, 2006 I have recieved numerous emails, pm's, and text messages from you guys asking if I'm still alive and some of you have even let me know what a dirt-bag friend I am for sucking at keeping in touch. Rather than answer each message individually (I'm lazy and my internet access is limited) I thought I would just post a thread. I am alive and well and living in Eloy now. I took an extended road trip and had a fantastic time. I really enjoyed meeting some dz.commers along the way, too. Those that know me well will know what a hectic and stressful life I left behind in Carolina. In the interest of regaining my sanity I have decided to step back from the world for a bit and just live a simple life with my dog. I rarely answer my phone, I don't have a tv, and I am not going to get internet for a while. I need some time for myself and the desert is providing just that. I go hiking almost every evening once it begins to drop below 100 degrees and I am finding the solitude to be very welcome and wonderful, it's not something that I have had for quite some time. I read a lot and I am educating myself about the desert and its wildlife, the more I read and learn the more I fall in love with this place. Some friends are introducing me to rock climbing and I am looking forward to learning something new. So, if any of you are passing through Eloy come find me in the manifest office and I will buy you a beer and give you a smile and a hug. Life is good. I don't know where I am going but I know where I've been and I plan on taking my time figuring out my next step so I don't end up back where I was. I can say that I am a damn lucky girl to have so many wonderful people in my life. Some are dz.commers and some shun this place like the plague. Either way, I have met and had the privaledge to learn from some incredible people along the way. For those that envy my position I only have one thing to say: don't. My life has a price, a steep one. Find your own voice and do not hesitate to use it. Find your own way and do not fear where it will lead you. Move to your own rhythm and do not be afraid of the dance. And most importantly, remember that life is beautiful and good, if you choose to see it that way.
