Does anyone in the US have a deepseed jumpsuit?

So, I saw an add for a jumpsuit company on the sidebar of this site and checked it out. Its for deepseed, and they seemed to be a pretty cool company with lots of products and cool looking RW suits. www.deepseed.com The price is right and delivery time looks good (even in the summer) so I think I might order one to replace my current suit. I have never seen one around any of the DZs I've been to so I thought I would try to get some opinions here.

I am specifically interested in feedback on their competition type RW suits. Also, did you have any issues dealing with a company in New Zealand?

Note: I did a forum search and the most relevent post about this company was two years old so I thought there might be some more experiances with them by now.

In my opinion RW suits are a complex business and takes a lot of experience to get it right. If you are looking for a competition suits, I tend to think you'de be better off with established brand: If u're in US TonySuit, Bevsuit, MichiganSuit come to mind (I must be forgetting some good brand I'm sure), in Europe you could go to Parasport, Symbiosis or even Aerofil in France (very nice Tonic Blast suit).

P.S. I ordered my jumpsuit years ago from a company no one ever heard of in the USA. Symbiosis... 600 jumps on the suit and except for a zipper replacement - looks brand new. Granted they are an established company overseas, but by your mentality of only ordering from "established brands" I would never have learned about someone else....

I dont't agree with you: good customer service and attention to detail dont make a godd RW suit, they are necessary to stay in business long enough to establish your brand.

To buy an unknown product, it must provides either new features or be cheaper with equivalent features. Judging from prices and the pictures it doesn'nt seem to be the case here.

Plus when you order skydiving suits, it is common to have some adjustements to make. Shipping back and forth to NZ, will be costly.

So I don't really the intereset to purchase half way accross the world a product without strong credentials. I dont criticise the product itself but with excellent local manufacturers why buy oversea?
But it is just an opinion... feel free to try...

Which it's entirely possible these people have.

Just becuse the brand is new, it's no cert that they haven't been making jumpsuits for much longer. Just look at all the container and canopy manufacturers that started after people left their parent companies... they didn't spring full-formed out of the ground.

Deepseed have been around for a few years now!

Their suits seem to be good, I don't have one but have friends that do.

Just because they have just started advertising in the US doesn't mean they are inexperienced.

My partners Bevsuits Competition RW suit fell to pieces after less than 100 jumps and a few minutes in a tunnel.

It fell to pieces half way through her 1 hour tunnel session before a competition in a Muslim country (Malasia).

She was showing some leg so to speak. but her tunnel time lost its purpose once the thing was significantly damaged.

So the big brands don't necessarily give the best product. Leigh's bevsuit was supplied to here for Jump for the cause so maybe they had a huge order and the quality was less but even so i wouldn't purchase a suit off them after that effort!

Try Deepseed and see how you go!

Hey Guys, My name is Liam from Deepseed. We have been around for 3 years now, in NZ, and you are correct, we have only just started to advertise in USA. You guys make some interesting points that you are right to consider. On the shipping back and forth to NZ in case of an alteration being required, we will be using a US based rigger for those, we are just in the process of setting that up. We also are pretty fussy about measurements, and we stress the importance of doing as good a job as you can when taking them (this is a part of the ordering process). Dude I will be straight up with you and tell you that our rep has been built on our freefly gear. The RW suit you see on the website is not a competition level suit (we are developing our competition suit with the help of some serious RW competitors (Pete Allum, Laslo Czismadia), but right now, if you want a competition standard RW suit, use one of the established guys (ours will be a kick arse product once we release it!!). However, if you want a Freefly suit, then our product is right up there with the best. Hope that answers your question dude (straight shooting, straight from the horses mouth). Hope you give us a go at some stage!! happy jumping!!

Thanks, I have a ton of respect for your company for being so upfront. Good call on using a US rigger for alterations. I have always been able to find someone around the DZ who is handy with a sewing maching to do minor work on my suit anyway. Looks like I'll be going with the established guys for a comp suit, but I'll remember you guys if I ever get the urge to go do something silly like fly in a sit

A lot of people in Australia seem to wearing Deepseed gear recently. I haven't heard any complaints so far... but then I haven't gone seeking opinions either.

I recently purchased a DEEPSEED suit and I have to say I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

We ordered several seperate suits both Free Fly and RW from our dropzone and all three came back firstly late and then completely bizare. Their FF suits are incredibly baggy even the regular fit.

I know all companies have teething problems but to have three separate suits all come back wrong and we are getting more reports daily from our jumpers who ordered their suite, is totally unacceptable. I personally wouldn't recommend them.

Yes they are cheaper than some people but they really aren't worth the hassle.

5 months on from ordering my DEEPSEED suit I am still without a FreeFly suit and seething from the hassle.

It is always worth having a real look at what you want and I would agree with the other posts go for reputation...nothing is more valuable than word of mouth and personal recommendations.

Recently, myself and 5 others at my DZ got Deepseed Freefly suits. We all love them! The quality and workmanship is comparable to US made suits and their customer service is fantastic.

The attached pic is myself and one of our other jumpers wearing Deepseed freefly suits with the normal drag option selected with a little more drag asked for in the legs. There is an option for a tighter fitting suit if you wish as well as a looser one. My husband got the multispeed suit and found that he can fly camera with his arms and legs opened up (no more need for wings), freefly with everything zipped up, and do tandems either way.

I'm 99% sure who madamfinch is and I jump at the same DZ.

To be fair to her, she's not trolling. A load of people ordered of suits and I've seen some of them on and there are genuine fitment issues with the ones I saw. They were all measured by a local Deepseed dealer so my attitude would be that even if it's the dealer's fault for poor measurements rather than the manufacturer's fault for poor design, it's still kinda their problem, (or at least the dealers; I'm not privy to the exact relationship).

On the other hand, I got myself a full jumpsuit from them shortly before the rest of the DZ ordered theirs. Mine rocks and fits me exactly as I'd asked. I even got a phonecall from Liam all the way from NZ updating me on the manufacture and exchanged a number of promptly responded e-mails on fitment and some extra custom options I wanted.

From my personal experience at least, I have only good things to say about the company and their products. As I said though, madamfinch does have an honestly held different opinion.

As of next week I'll be ordering a set of FF pants from Deepseed using exactly the same measurements as I used for my suit, (I still have the pad I wrote them down on). If one set fits and the other set doesn't... well it'll be pretty clear where the problem lies.

Pretty cool I have the same make jumpsuit as Nicole Sheridan maybe Liam should get in touch with her for some modelling shots like Tonyfly have done with Roberta Mancino...

I just received my new FFsuit and what a great surprise : Great fit, good workmanship and very helpful customer service . It is for this reason I have ordered a standard gear bag from them .

I heard about them a couple years ago. a kiwi suggested them when i was new and looking on what type of gear to get. From what I saw of his, it was a very well made, high quality suit.

I totally acknowledge that Madam Finch did not get to see the best side of Deepseed. There was a delay in the order, due to a supplier issue over some Tape. The dog ate my lunch, a meteor blew up the work shop blah blah..We also failed to pick up on the fact that madam finch had ordered a loose fit standard Freefly suit, when based on her measurements the product she needed, was our Inverter suit. So we definitely made a few mistakes on this set of orders. We offered to fix the problem FOC, but our offer was declined and a full refund was issued at The customers request, as she wanted to go with another suit manufacturer. Madam Finch, I am so sorry that you are still waiting for a freefly suit after all this time (as we have already made another suit for the other party involved in the order), and hope that when you do get it, it is all good for you and you can get on with jumping. No hard feelings,

I was not launching a personal attack on Deepseed, they did resume the situation in the end.

Just trying to help another jumper make an informed decision when purchasing gear. I'm not saying other manufacturers don't have problems and I can't comment on them as I haven't seen them.

I was just explaining my experience in response to the question, "Does anyone have a Deepseed suit?".

I apologize if any offense was taken, it certainly was not intended.

At the end of the day its all down to personal choice, I now have gone with Sonic and I'm happy with them but I'm sure others would agree.... thats the beauty of opinions, everyone's is different and no-one is stating they are right or wrong it was just my personal opinion!

I've had a Deepseed inverter freefly suit for about six months & it rocks good fit, well made looks great & well priced & was delivered on time, can't ask for more that that ! Jumpers at my DZ have looked at the qualiy of mine & are snapping them up. Their camera jackets & swoop shorts are also great wouldn't hesitate to reccomend to anyone. Very personalised service

I placed an order for a Deepseed Freefly suit on a Sunday here in NZ and I received a phonecall from the company less than an hour later to confirm all details. I found them to be extremely polite and very professional as a business. I received my Freefly suit within 10 working days and this is what I have to say about it.

The suit fits me incredibly well. The quality of fabric and construction of the suit is of the highest standard. There isn't much more I can say except that I got exactly what I asked for as a customer and I certainly recommend Deepseed products to any jumper.

Just to throw mine out there, I've got a camera jacket from them, and they are without a doubt, phenomenal. I have showed it to a lot of folks at my DZ and have got nothing but "Oh shit, that's good work" and the likes. It flies great and the customer service is freaking AWESOME!! The material is 100% outstanding and super quality, and it just looks freakin sweet. If it sucked, I'd have no problem hanging it on the wall for looks (but it doesn't suck, HAHAHA).

Does anyone have any pics of the 'Teardrop' style Freefly suit??
I'm looking at ordering that...

I must say their customer service over email has been incredible, not the usual one-liners companies give you when asking questions. I'm new to the sport so was told by them of options I can go for even if DeepSeed is making less money out of me...

If their suit is really awesome why would I want to buy from anywhere else?
