I hate Sprint

Recommended Posts

I hate sprint. They suck.....period. If I wasn't stuck in their stupid contract I would change to another provider.

Who has the best service?

Lol!! I am in the exact same situation right now. Sprint is the absolute worst cell phone service.

They use an advertising concept called Feature your faults. Take whatever you are worst at and Claim to be the best. Many companies use this form of advertising.

Coverage is horrible. My phone constantly goes into roam.. In downtown Atlanta it goes back and forth between Normal and Roam constantly because Sprints signal is so week. Most calls are dropeed and the phone will not work at all in ANY building.

Having checked around all the local DZ`s the one cell service that seems to work everywhere is Verizon. My contract is up next month with sprint. I cant wait to change.

I just was in with nextel/Sprint supposedly for another year.

I called them up, and told them how bad my service was, never able to get through, etc. and they said if a manager looks at my call history, they can see how bad it really is, and then waive the early termination fee, if appropriate

Well, they checked it out, and the mangaer started spouting some numbers, saying it is well below the FCC standard, and that they wouldnt' waive the early termination fee ($200). She also told me that additionally, they never do that. So I told her I just got trasnferred over from someone who told me that, then they had to to transfer me to this lady...she insisted that she doesnt have the authority to do that, and that I would have to clear that with customer service, so I asked to be transferred back.

I insited on my part of the story, and eventually they got a manager to approve waiving the termination fee, so that I could then close my account. They had to transfer me back to the account department, where I would close the account. I got a new lady this time, told her I would like to close my account, and verify that there would be no cancellation fee. She pulled up my account, and sure enough, it was written from the CS people to not charge me the fee. She got really mad at this, and said "they are not supposed to do that, can you please hold on sir while I verify this" yep, no problem.

She came back after a few minutes, and said that they did in fact waive the fee, even though they were not supposed to. I reassured her that I would have stuck with Nextel/Sprint if i could get service at my house, but since I didn't I needed to close the account.
She closed it and no fee for me.

mark one for the little guy.
Ymmv, but worth a shot.
I am back with Verizon now.
feel free to use my story, then call me when you are "in."

My actual Sprint service is vaguely okay, except for the fact that voice mails get lost, only to show up weeks later, and sometimes the phone never rings even though it's on. All of a sudden, I'll mysteriously get voice mail, but nothing shows up in the call history. All of this I could impatiently live with if they didn't also screw up the billing every few months. Somehow, without my ever REQUESTING changes in service, I will start getting billed for new and exciting features that are supposed to be included in my plan to begin with. I never should have added a phone line for my mother. Part of the billing problem is that things get moved from my phone to hers (like internet service)--and then I'M charged extra for using the services that are supposed to be on my account to begin with.

*Whew.* That was cathartic! Doesn't fix my Sprint service, but I feel better after lying down on the therapist's couch and exploring my deeply-seated Sprint issues.

I know how you feel. I have stormed out of the stupid sprint store at least 5 times. They are the worst as far as customer service goes. Of course what should I expect from someone who is made manager because everybody who was worthwhile quit and now has a real job?

I figure that, by now, I have likely been flagged in their computers as a hostile customer because I get so ticked off that I have to micro-manage the bill every time it comes in. I'm normally very even-keeled, but Sprint is my one true hot spot.

Maybe we could get rich quick (to pay for skydiving, of course), by providing an intermediary service to Sprint customers. They come to us; we fix it with Sprint. There must be a HUGE market for this! The stress would be massive, though. I wonder what the suicide rate of Sprint intermediaries would be. . . .

Cell providers are in general, shady at best.

I switched from Sprint to T-Mobile 6 months before I left for S Korea on orders (where there is no American cell service >:(). They froze my account while I was gone, but I lost the phone a few days before I left. :S

A year later, I walk into a T-Mobile storefront to restore my account and buy a new phone. I see one I like for $89 but the salesman tells me that's for new accounts only, and my price would be like $300 >:(.

He did what he could for me, then got me on the phone with T-Mobile. I spent the next 2 hours (in a busy storefront) explaining my situation to 2 CSR's, a supervisor, and a manager.

The line that worked was:
"Let me get this straight, I'm out $300 whether I buy this phone from you at full retail, or pay your $200 account termination fee then turn around and buy the same phone under a new account?"

"Then the only way T-Mobile is going to retain me as a customer is to sell me this phone at $89."

They sold me my phone for $89 at the store, and I didn't have to bother with the mail-in rebate!!

It pays to be a hardass with these people. No wigging out, just calm cool hostility. :)

It's one of those industries where we'll put up with realy bad service because really bad service is still better than doing without cell service. We just move from provider to provider; we don't ever just give it up and walk away. There's no real motivation for any of the providers to actually fix the problem--especially if fixing things would be expensive! On the other hand, if there was a truly reliable service, we'd all move over to it in a heartbeat!

See, the keyword here is reliable service. One provider can be the shit at one place but heaven at another. I know Verizon is great in NYC but Sprint is crap there. Weird.

I'm OK with T-Mobile, mainly because I can use my phones from Malaysia here.
Why don't you just go to the police station in a red clown suit and let everybody know what we're doing here?

I have a phobia for moobs. Thanks, youknowwhoyouare.

I use Cingular, but I'm still on my AT&T plan. I refuse to use Verizon or Sprint because I consider CDMA to be the digital manifestation of Satan's anal leakage.

850 anytime minutes
Unlimited nights and weekends
Unlimited mobile to mobile
Unlimited text messaging
Unlimited roaming in US, Canada, and Puerto Rico
10MB of data.

$39.99

Cingular tries to get me to "upgrade" my plan all the time.. I wonder why :D:D:D
cavete terrae.

I have been with AT$T, Sprint, Verizon, now I am with t-mobile. I want to say T-mobile is the best service of the group. Never have a problem. Very few dropped calls. Worse one had to be sprint. Never could get through on the damn thing.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
