People that don't close their mouths when they chew...

Recommended Posts

Really fucking piss me off. Nothing really grosses me out, but I mean come on, learn some simple table manners.

I have to work with one of these guys on my team this month. Every day at lunch....smack smack smack goes his mouth. I just wanna reach up and smack him.

Is this unreasonable?

I absolutely agree with you. There are people I refuse to eat at the same table with because of that. >:(

When my kids were little, we'd warn them once and then send them away from the table on the second offense.

It is gross, and certainly annoying...ask him to stop. He will either make it worse on purpose or actually stop doing it.....maybe he doesn't realize he is doing it.

The other thing that I hate is when people ask me a questions just when I am putting food in my mouth....how much do you have to swallow before you can start speaking?? How annoying :S

Exactly.

I was taught to chew with my mouth closed, of course. But when I was about 5, I noticed that my dad's mouth opened a little when he chewed, and I thought that looked incredibly cool and adult.

It was a lot easier to re-teach myself to chew with my mouth open, than to re-re-teach myself to chew with it closed

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

Oh, I hate it with a passion - I feel your pain!

I have a female boss who does this, and I HATE getting stuck in the lunch room with her by myself. If there are others eating at the same time, at least her noises are drowned out by conversation, chairs being moved, bags being crumpled, etc.

I'd much rather hear nails on a chalkboard!
