popsjumper 2 #1 August 14, 2006 No, not about the youngsters…about the skydiving kids that were never taught to clean up behind themselves. 11 trash cans around the hangar and DZ... Cleaned up this morning: 42 cans and bottles 24 cigarette butts in the non-smoking areas 31 broken rubber bands 19 good rubber bands 17 assorted dirty silverware items 11 dirty dishes (paper and otherwise) 3 pens 3 socks 1 pair of shoes 1 T-shirt 72 miscellaneous odds and ends Were some of them yours? NO DZ is immune to these kids. Your Mommy doesn’t work here, kid.My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. CSpenceFLY 1 #8 August 14, 2006 Your just now seeing this.Try cleaning up after the Dublin Boogie.I have often wondered how bad a hanger would get before some of the lazy, nasty fuckers would pickup after themselves but I could not stand to be around that long.I think most would move just enough stuff to have a place for THEM to pack and sleep. . matthewcline 0 #11 August 14, 2006 I was working at another DZ one weekend and every time I broke a tandem band I would put it in the trash as fast as possible, but some times would leave it on my gear bag till I got down from the next load if runing a bit behind. I saw another T-I tossing his broken bands on my gear bag, so I would carry them to the garbage, next to where his gear bag was.An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
drae 0 #12 August 14, 2006 Quote No, not about the youngsters…about the skydiving kids that were never taught to clean up behind themselves. hhmmmm.......bet I know where you were, too. I agree with you Andy. It never ceases to amaze me when people leave their garbage around for others to deal with. What the hell is that about??? I tend to take it personally because if I did that I would do it with the concious thought that I was leaving it for someone else to clean up...which is so totally wrong!
