skymama 37 #3 August 11, 2006 Be careful taking Zicam, it causes some people to lose their ability to smell. My doc told me to take Claritin and Sudafed and he said it was ok to take them together. Are you sure it's a cold and not allergies? Go to Pollen.com, stick in your zip code and it's a good way to see if anything is blooming in your area that could be aggrivating your system. wmw999 2,464 #6 August 11, 2006 Mounds and mounds of vitamin C (like 1000 mg every 3 hours or so). I also irrigate my nose, which helps some with the congestion. Claritin doesn't do anything for me when I have a cold, but Sudafed and stuff like that do. But if you're too stuffed up, don't jump. My doctor said that you will get over a cold in ten days with medicine or a week and a half without medicine...
