Rebecca 0 #51 July 18, 2006 QuoteDamn if I knew you were going to be there I would have tried harder to get there Really? COOL!!! you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
Rebecca 0 #52 July 18, 2006 QuoteI made some cool jumps, but my main reason to go was to meet some dz.commers. I already knew some, but I met many for the first time. Off the top of my head, I met and/or hung out with: * JENNR8R * jumpjunkie2004 * skydivermom * mockingbird * popsjumper * mnealtx * boinky * airtwardo * wmw999 * 4WayXena * mx757 * amanduh * susanjumps * Brains * turtlespeed * voodew1 * moonglo * luminous * rebecca * jumpergirl * upndownshop * aggiedave * professor * thanatos340 * slappie * BIGUN ...and I'm sure I'm leaving out more than a few. There were some HUGE highlights for me. One was a date with two lovely ladies (JENNR8R and jumpjunkie2004). I was also on skydivermom's SCR and on jumpjunkie2004's SCR and SCS loads. I also made my 2nd and 3rd wingsuit jumps. I even got talked into doing some RW! Walt Hey Walt! Thanks for the list! I met most of y'all too, but if Walt forgot any of you, I apologize. That was SUCH a good time! I was basically just there to meet y'all. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk? Rebecca 0 #54 July 18, 2006 QuoteYes really... we could have had the beginnings of our bandwagon. I know. That woulda been cool. Know what though? There's next year. If it makes you feel better, I was a good girl - I drove home sober Saturday night instead of doing something more interesting. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk? McBeth 0 #55 July 18, 2006 It sucks, but I have a feeling I might not ever be able to make it there. We will have to see about timing, but I think the AIDS Walk SF is always going to be the same weekend as Skyfest.
Clite 0 #56 July 18, 2006 Thanks to J, Jamie, Stan, and everyone else who helped to put this together. I had a great time jumping and meeting alot of you, even if I didn't say alot. Also thanks to those of you who jumped on the Silent Inside Hearing Outside load.
waltappel 1 #57 July 18, 2006 Hey Wesley! I met you too but didn't know your login name. It was nice meeting you! Walt
Beachbum 0 #58 July 18, 2006 Hey Walt ... you were on the SCR load with Sarah and I ... guess we didn't get introduced. I am the one who came into the auction tent with the tye-dye shirt (I put that on partly in honor of the now defunct dz at Wharton where the shirt came from and I started jumping, and for you since everyone told me you normally always wear tye-dye to jump in) ... thanks again for helping make my SCR happen! As long as you are happy with yourself ... who cares what the rest of the world thinks? Clite 0 #59 July 18, 2006 Hey Walt! It was a pleasure to meet you. It did take me a minute to figure you out since you weren't wearing your tie dye at the time.
jumpjunkie2004 0 #60 July 18, 2006 Hmmmm.... It's hard to summarize the awesome adventures I had in Texas, but I'll give it a try. In addition to meeting a ton of super cool DZ.commers (the list is long), the highlights: Dinner with Turtle, Boinky, Mnealtx, Walt & JennR8R Jump # 101 - Getting my SCR (thanks to everyone who went with me : ) Jump # 104 - Helping Skydivermom get her SCR Jump # 104 - Getting my SCS (not planned, but it happened that way) Jump # 105 - My first Hybrid (I know...I owe beer) Sharing the experience with JennR8R Going on pink patch practice jumps and not totally sucking Standing up all my landings : ) even one on the asphalt (oops) Jumping in the pond after the SCR ceremony Swimming by moonlight at my hotel My hot date with Walt & Jennr8r Being told that I fly well for my number of jumps : ) The low points: Not being able to participate in all the wonderful activities that were available to me : ( Arriving and getting ready to gear up only to discover that my AAD batteries were dead (New batteries and repack $145...grrrr.) Having my ear drum swell so much that I couldn't jump : ( Not being able to go on the Texas Womens Record jump Being eaten alive by bugs : ( Waiting in the plane for 50 minutes at airport while other planes took off - we got home sooooo late : ( Having everything end just when it was getting more interesting : (Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat... skydivermom 0 #61 July 18, 2006 What an outstanding weekend! Meeting so many of you was the biggest treat of all. Like a family reunion, even though we'd only met on-line before. Getting my SCR was so much fun! Thank you Larry (lumunious) for organizing the whole thing and graciously bowing out so I could have video and pics. Thank you Turtlespeed for the awesome video and pics. Thanks Waltappel, JENR8R, Jumpjunkie2004, Popsjumper, Airtwardo, JohnRich, Lee McMillan and I wish I knew who the other jumper was. You all made my day! Also, thanks to BIGUN and Mark (?) for organizing my first two attempts, and to all who were with me on the first two attempts. I will cherish these pics for a long time...and last but not least, Thank you Mockingbird for getting shots of the dirtdive! skydivermom 0 #62 July 18, 2006 I forgot to mention the hilarious song that Larry (lumunious) taught me in the plane. It's a spoof on the do, re, mi song and it's about beer! I'm sure most of you know it. Everytime he sings that song in the plane it just cracks me up. Oh, and here's some more cool pics. The first one is Jumpjunkie2004, myself and JENR8R, and I'm sure you can all figure out who that is with me in the second one What a great weekend!!Mrs. WaltAppel All things work together for good to them that love God...Romans 8:
