Pitts pilot:
"And there I was holding this guy's bag in one hand and the stick in the other."

um... wow... :o:D:D

Seriously though, that was some frightening shit.

It was the Pitts pilot who flips upside down and let's a jumper climb out and hang from a "T" handle, get a picture, and then fall off the plane.

As one jumper climbed out, his pack tray came open (the cockpit is a very tight fit). The pilot reached up to hold the deployment bag in place (the jumper is in the front seat and the pilot in back) to try and prevent a premature opening which would rip the tail of the plane off, injure the jumper and force the pilot to use his bail-out seat pack. Lines started coming out and it turned into a horseshoe. The jumper was pulled off, just missing the tail. Somehow the pilot chute then came out and the jumper had a "normal" main deployment right outside the plane, albeit with an upside-down plane and head-down body position.

There were two photos posted on a bulletin board that someone on the ground took with a very long lens, and they are truly frightening to look at.

If someone has a copy of those photos, they would make for interesting conversation here.

I don't think he did - I just saw him with them on his computer screen.

My best guess is that he hasn't uploaded all his stuff yet.

You should be relieved to know that I gave the rest of the Crown away. I can't walk straight if I don't measure accurately how much I drink. That stuff's bad for my health.

ones? -- Monday.

That stuff is NOT bad for your health - and very good for our laugh muscles.

Well, let me put it this way... I have a bruise that is three inches wide and six inches long where the sun don't shine from when I fell down. I could hardly sit on the airplane the next day...

if i only knew how to post those pics here???
pic#1 pilot holding bag with bridle over his head(pilot)
pic #2 upside down ,passenger just droping out of seat with mess deploying..aircraft tail high nose low to clear tail

#3 jumper away, about 5 feet below pilot with deployment starting
$ jumper below tail much deployment
#4 jumper only line streatch slider up jumper and canopy facing ground
#5 normal flight

this PITTS pilot just saved a very experianced, current jumper from becomeing part of a PITTS tail assembly minus aircraft body.
cannot say enough for the cool headed pilot

this same PITTS and pilot can come to any DZ if enough folks commit to jump..say 10/15 per day

and the pilot is one of those low maintence folks you like to be around,,

Thanks ... was good to see you again! I think I met a lot more folks from on here than I knew at the time ... especially since I haven't been staying "current" on here while I was grounded ... lots of people that weren't here when I was more of a regular!!
As long as you are happy with yourself ... who cares what the rest of the world thinks?

Hehe, I brung that to the party... smooth, yet utterly powerful. Makes Crown look like a punk. Sorry, I didn't get to give you a kiss good-bye. (how come there's no kiss smiley?)

Thank you for the invitation. Thanks for your help on the SCRs. Thanks to Jamie, J., Stan, for putting on the boogie. And mucho thanks to the Boyd family for letting us play in their yard, the pilots who demonstrated their professionalism on every takeoff and landing (ESPECIALLY the takeoffs :o) and the people who came, those who donated their time and/or money.

Thanks, Sangiro
