RTB 0 #1 June 14, 2007 Does anyone remember an incident a few years ago where a reserve with thin flares with slider stops at the bottom was damaged, lines ripped and part of the canopy tore on opening? I am looking at a reserve right now that has these type of flares but cannot find what reserve it was that had this incident.
ericfradet 0 #2 June 14, 2007 I believe it was a glide path canopy, but that was years ago,
RTB 0 #3 June 14, 2007 I think you are right. The reserve I have here now is a Firelite from GlidePath. Could not find the original thread that I now I read here though.

RTB 0 #6 June 15, 2007 Where the stabiliser normally is there are thin flag like parts and two of them have slider stops at the end. Sorry I can't describe it better. The pic is the only thing I could find right now.
mark 107 #7 June 15, 2007 Flight Concepts reserve, packed by/for Silver Wings freefall demo team at Fort Benning, Georgia. MEL (posts here with same name) participated in the investigation. You could PM him for details, but the bottom line is to RTM to ensure you use exactly the manufacturer's packing method. Odd that this doesn't show up in dz.com search. I thought I read about it here. Mark
bob.dino 1 #8 June 19, 2007 QuoteOdd that this doesn't show up in dz.com search. I thought I read about it here. There's a hole in the search index for most of the first half of 2006. There's a thread in Bugs & Error Reports about it. If it bothers you, add your voice to those asking for the issue to be rectified.
