Rebecca 0 #51 August 1, 2006 QuoteQuote Surrounding yourself with caring honest friends helps with all 3 steps. All of the above takes balls/ moxie/ chutzpah, AND humility.not balls... just honesty... being honest can be hard for some people... That's my point. It wouldn't take balls if it was easy to face yourself. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

SpeedRacer 1 #57 August 1, 2006 it all depends on whether their "wrongness" directly affects you or someone you care about. Standing up to someone just because you believe they are wrong in a political argument is kind of like, well, going to Speakers Corner or something. wildblue 7 #67 August 2, 2006 ... best done in private. In person if possible - that depends on the relationship you have with the person and the situation. luckky 0 #69 August 2, 2006 to stand up to someone when they are wrong is: _______________________________________________________ something that i did a week ago. Was pulling into a publix parking lot when i watched an elderly couple go for a handicap parking space . when i heard a man screming at them from his truck that they were going the wrong way. mind you the elderly cpl did not cut him off or in my eyes do ne thing wrong.( he had a cell phone in his face). i parked in the next row, all the time listening to him being VERY ugly to this elderly cpl. i parked and got out headed to the store. fuming. he happened to drive past me, i stuck my head in his open window and told him that he should be ashamed of hisself for yelling at them and that he should take a chill pill. he procedded to yell at me to shut up and yelling profanities at me. i did not back down. he drove off. a gentleman that had witnessed the whole thing said that he was glad someone had the guts to say summthin. i must say that i am not confontational, just couldn't help myself. ************************************************If there are no trials in life, how will u know what is really imprtortant liv2luv luv2liv,,,SUMMOOO 1 lucky

micro 0 #72 August 2, 2006 Quote...... gets you fired if you work for an asshole! No Regrets though true that, as I found out several months ago. but, as you say, no regrets. over the years i've learned to not stay quite anymore in the face of injustice, even small ones, unless it's obviously imprudent to open my big mouth. sometimes it's best to stay quite, but not always. a few examples... people littering out of their cars. bugs the shit out of me. if i have the opportunity to pull up next to them i ask them, "why did you just litter on our city streets? can't you wait to get to a gas station trash can or until you get home?" at wal-mart the other day, this lady made this completely 1/2 ass attempt to put her shopping cart in the outside bin and just pushed toward the bin.. it kept rolling down the lane, blocking the way for other cars. she just turned and walked her car. I yelled to her, "don't worry ma'am, no further effort is needed on your part, I'll take it from here. But thanks for at least TRYING to get it somewhere close to the cart bin." So, sarcasm probably doesn't help any, but please people, do we have to be so fucking lazy? she was just a couple more feet from the bin and then didn't care that her actions were going to inconvenience a host of other people. That shit drives me BONKERS!!! I miss Lee. And JP. And Chris. And...
