theskydiveguy 0 #3 August 7, 2006 I stood there when a Lear Jet took off, lots of power but not enough to knock you down! Pretty cool standing under an Air France Airbus as it passes over you @ 30ish feet! ~Jeff
cocheese 0 #4 August 8, 2006 My dad was metal detecting in the water at the end of the runway there. He saw a small 20 passanger plane swoopin in and slam! He ran out of the way, but the plane stopped before the water. ( i didn't watch the video)

homer 0 #6 August 8, 2006 I was watching the videos of landings and take offs yesterday. There are some pretty low flying plains along with some very short landings. I would love to be there when a 747 comes in for a short landing. I know the seen from "Pushing Tin" with John Cusack & Billy Bob Thornton is fake and all but could the wake turbulence really send you flying through the air like in the movie? That's a good question. The show Mythbusters actually did a show where they put a car behind a jet sitting on the runway. I don't remember what kind of jet it was but it was big. They put it in the line of fire of one of the engines. Fired that big baby up and it rolled the fucking car several times! They did place the car well behind the tail though so you know how strong that jet blast is. However, I'm guessing that people on the beach are not going to get a direct hit by the jet wash..."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
