freefal 0 #1 August 3, 2006 Many people on these forums (including me) were close to some or most of the people on the Otter that went down in Sullivan last weekend. Even though the funerals aren't even finished yet, the parents of Victoria Delacroix, the tandem student from England who was lost in the crash, are already suing everyone they can think of including the DZ. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/stories.nsf/metroeast/story/063DBBA66884ED5B862571BF0018FDBA?OpenDocument I can’t believe the idiocy of trying to sue people over this. The FAA and NTSB haven’t even released a report yet and these fuckers are already trying to get rich off their daughter’s death. Here's the web page for their lawyer, so you can see what he looks like. http://www.robbrobb.com/media.jsp If you ever see him, please give him a swift kick in the nuts for everyone's sake. weegegirl 2 #7 August 3, 2006 Her parents are going through more pain than most of us can imagine right now. However, there is no reason for this. I guess I just expect this kind of reaction. These people know nothing about skydiving, the sport, the mentality, the ettiquette, or anything. The whole situation is sad. I hope they wake up. I hate sueing. How stupid. They are probably the types of nice people we see in the likes of Hollywood who will give you the shirts off of their backs - but only if the media is there to cover it. The parents, though - I do not think they should do this now. They are suing so soon. I never take a person for a client who does so out of emotion. Just last week, a marriage was saved - at least temporarily - because I asked the client to hold off on filing a divorce petition until the matter that I assisted him with was resolved. I didn't make much money, but it's nice to get a handshake and a thank you, knowing that this guy trusts me completely now. I understand why the parents want to sue, though I don't condone it.
