overbooking and other high crimes

Recommended Posts

So I just got done talking to a very upset friend of mine.

A man she thought she was seeing invited her to a party where he
obviously had invited other females who thought he was seeing them
too or at least liked them.

Why do people do this kind of shit?? :S
Please feel free to reply to my posts and pm's, but only if you're smart enough to understand what they really mean.

I think it was more him ensuring that SOMEONE would hookup with him that evening. :S

Protecting his fragile little ego. He was so worried that one wouldn't show that he invited several. Pretty sad actually.

Geez you people are quick to judge negatively:D:D:D :S:S

Since we know Bugger all about the event in question, he may well have only been interested in her as a friend and she had the wrong idea.
It may well be that he's a nice guy and has lots of female friends. I know I have far more female friends than male

People tend to stop doing this kinda thing once they turn 25'ish. Your friend should stop dating them young studs.:|

I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama

Whether I'd get irritated would totally depend on what he'd said to me.

If we'd been out on a date or two or even a bunch but hadn't set any expectation of exclusivity ... well, I might be disappointed that I don't appear to be "the one" but at the same time, I'd now have a very clear understanding of where I stand.

Now, if we'd had a chat about being exclusive and he was expecting me to be exclusive and I was promised the same, well then yeah, I'd be pissed off.

Either way, that party told her exactly what she needs to know about this guy. What she chooses to do with it is up to her... walk away, or participate in his harem and/or orgy.:D

It's entirely possible based on the vague information given in the OP that this is a genuinely nice, good guy who likes to spend time with the people he cares about on a one on one basis, and in doing so has accidentally given them the impression that he wanted more out of the relationship than friendship. He then haplessly fell into an awkward situation when he innocently invited several of them to the same party.

He could also be a total douchecanoe (thank's Grue) just looking to stir up shit.

It's all in the interpretation of "thought she was seeing." WTH does that mean? :S

Whether it was accidental or deliberate, he's making it fairly clear that what he wants out of their relationship isn't what she wants out of it. She's now got that information and can act on it.

What befuddles me is that she will probably continue to overanalyze his every action with her girlfriends and try to figure out how she can "make" him like her more.

I really don't understand other wimmen sometimes. :|

As long as we're making wild conjectures based on vague information, consider this possibility:

He really is interested in her, and those other women were just good friends that had the wrong impression, and now she has the wrong impression and he's at home trying to strain the tears out of his soup.

Or this one:

He's the victim of accidental castration discussed in this post and since he lacks any sort of sexual pleasure in his life he gets his jollies by making several women fall for him at once, then dumping them all in one broad stroke (that'll teach women to cut off my dick!).

No way of telling what other people are thinking unless you ask them.

Likewise.. other people have no way of telling what you're thinking unless you tell them.

Basic communication skills make it a lot harder for "the game" to be played.

Quit making so much sense. :D

Agreeed. This is bonfire, not suppose to make sense here ;)

Now if we could just teach these skills to all...both men and women! :D
