ryno1972 0 #56 July 31, 2006 mmmm. which dealer???? Usually a MAF will over-report the weight of the air at low RPM and under-report the weight of the air at high rpm, which shows up in the long and short term fuel trims.... Unless there is a short or open in the internal circuitry of the MAF, there is really no reason to replace it. But I see what you mean, I have replaced several to C.M.A., you know when I am not sure if cleaning will work. That may be what the dealer you work for is trying to avoid..... I work to get paid, if they dont pay me i dont do the work they will only pay for diagnostic and part replacement in that situation. it isnt the dealer, it is the manufacturer. nissan will not pay for that. this is warrenty repairs though. sharimcm 0 #58 July 31, 2006 I think the dealerships are more experienced with the cars they work on. I pay more for repairs to get it done there, but they warranty their parts and labor. In fact, right now my car is in the shop and is costing me well over $1000 in repairs just a week after I picked it up from getting another $1000 in repairs... I just trust the dealership more than Joe Blow down the street... And, because I was screwing my car salesman and got to know the service guys well since I was there almost every other day, I get discounts in the service center.
