Refurbished iPods

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have one? I am going to run out of space on my 30GB relatively soon and I want the 60GB video player. But 399 is too much to spend. So, has anyone bought a refurbished iPod? What was the quality?

This is about iPods ONLY...thanatos. ;)

(although, if you can point me to a player that costs less with the same amount of memory that plays video I am willing to listen. :)
Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

I got a refurbished iPod from a buddy of mine who works at Best Buy and it works as good as my last 2 new ones. I guess you can tell that it isn't BRAND new, but as far as the stuff that really matters, no difference. I think it is well worth the cost break.

You also get the same warranty as a new one. I haven't bought an iPod but a friend bought a refurbed iMac and there is no indication of use on it at all.

You can buy refurbs from the Apple Store online. There is a banner that says "Looking for a good deal?" or somethng similar. Just click on it and you'll see what is available. The items available change periodically...they will disappear and then reappear depending on availability...so if what you want isn't there, keep checking as it may show up again.

I'm very interested in on too! GTA where can I buy one?

The Apple store (online and retail) sells refurbished iPods

Here is the search link for their site:

http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wo/0.RSLID?find=refurbished&btn.x=0&btn.y=0

The 60Gb is 339 with free shipping.

There are other refurb stores online though that are cheaper. Anyone know if these are trustworthy (not in whether I will get it or not, but whether it has been refurbished by Apple or not)?

some folks - military, educators, college kids, and others - get a 10% discount

it is tricky to find the discount on the Apple website

click Customer Service and then click on question #10, Where to find discounts
Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.

I got a 60G with 50G of music on it for $200. Its got a few scratches on the back and a small "scratch" in the display, but what the hell. It works great and I must say I have been impressed with the battery life. Also got the umbilical cord and a charger.

The refurbs have the same warranty and are rebuilt to the same spec as the new ones. There's really not much of a downside.

So what kind of discount is typical for a refurb?
