I need a name

Recommended Posts

This is my new baby!!!! She's a lab border collie mix. She was abandoned with her 7 brothers and sister. The shelter that found the littler was going to destroy these little joys as they were too young. A no kill shelter here in Northern California took this littler in and raised them to be adopted. The two ladies that have personally funded this shelter on there own property are wonderful. They spend their free time and own money helping these pets.

One is a vet the other an animal control officer. They were nice enough to raise this puppy so that I can bring her home!

Now she needs a name! Any ideas?

Very cute pup!

With that mix of breeds, this dog has a good chance of being extremely intelligent and energetic. She'll probably get bored easily and look for mischief even more than most other dogs. But she should also be a delight to train. Hope you're prepared to spend a lot of time with her.:)
I love mixed breeds.

Matt

She is very smart. She already (less than 24 hours) understands that when I say "go home" she needs to get back into her crate.

Well, if no one is going to offer a name idea, I'll have a swing:

Whimsey
Molly
Samantha (Sam)
Bessy
Ginger

....how's that...? :)
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

Hmm...abandoned, found by a shelter, almost put to sleep, somehow found by a no-kill shelter run by a vet, then adopted by someone that will lover her for the rest of her life......

Isnt it obvious:

LUCKY

That, or CHANCEY (for "second chance")..... ;)

That was my first thought too.

But since it's not very original for a pet's name, how about Providential? (Ok, that sorta sucks for a pet's name.... How about Provvy?)

I'd say that puppy looks like a 'Barb' to me or maybe 'Duke'.

Right now I'm partial to Max. I named my Max after Gawain, even tho she's female. And Max is probably the name of the dog Barbara Duke is saving. I would not have known that if I didn't name my Max, Max.

Barb's Mom called me today and said she missed Little Max so much, she wants him back asap!
She said Little Max reminded her so much of Barb and it was keeping her connected to Barb.
She said it with tears in her voice.
Little Max goes back on Tuesday or Wednesday to his new found home with Barb's parents.
He needs to bond more with my Max.
I was able to clip his nails. So he's coming along ok.
He's bonded very well with RePete.
He runs on all four legs too. His pelvis noticably sticks out tho. Pretty amazing.

I think 'Barb' or 'Duke' would be good names for your new puppy.

What a CUTIE...
She looks like a 'Cookie' to me. Or if you want to give her a 'people' name, Corrina. She's just so pretty :)
My doggie's name is Niles, my cat is Mr6. Don't ever ask me to name your child:S.~~April

You would look cute with a worm hood around your neck

Ooh, kinky.

and it would break you of your habit of licking your own butt

Ok, I'm flexible, but not quite that flexible.

Now quit hijacking Jason's thread. :P

I think Cooper's a cute name, but for no specific reason. :)

Jay, she's adorable. Thanks for taking her into a forever home. Names? I have no idea. My guys have named themselves, so I'm no help. Sorry. But she is indeed a cutie.

For some reason, the first name that came to mind was "Banjo" ...

'Shell

I kind of like Banjo . . .

If I use her personality as a deciding tool for her name she will be named either "bouncer" or "chewy" as of now.

That'll change. If I had used that on my boxer when he was a puppy, he would have been named something like that too. But now that he's almost 5, his name would be "Bumponalogbigwhitecatlikedog" ... good thing I went with "Herc"! :D
