AggieDave 6 #1 July 17, 2006 For the longest time I've been wanting to get good RW coaching to bring my RW flying up even close to my jump numbers. I've also wanted to become an AFF-I, but I'm not even near to being close enough to do that. Infact, I typically don't do that many coach jumps, except hop-n-pops and helping teach canopy control stuff. This is simply due to my lack of good RW skill. I can make it to a formation safely, I can fly in my slot, but I really can't do anything else that well. This year Mark Futch and Skydive Aggieland funeded a SDU scholorship for me to pay for 1/2 of SDU for me. As I was told they've seen the lengths I've taken on my own to work hard and learn what I can, but they wanted to help me along so to help me complete my goal of becoming an AFF-I. So I wanted to publicly thank them for this opportunity. Come to find out this isn't the first time someone with some jump numbers has recieved a Skyfest Scholarship. Ernie Long recieved one of the first scholarships to help him get his Tandem Course Director rating. Which was something that was a goal of his but he couldn't quite achieve. So this fall I get to actually go through SDU instead of learning bits and pieces from SDU coaches here and there. Then in the spring my wife and I are going to train together to get our AFF-I. I couldn't be more excited and very thankful!--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

Brains 2 #3 July 17, 2006 Congrats Dave, I saw you get the award but Mark wasn't talking into the microphone so none of us heard what it was for. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
