MF42 0 #1 July 17, 2006 Space shuttle Discovery is scheduled to begin its de-orbit burn in less than an hour, provided weather at the landing site stays good. They're concerned about a developing thunderstorm that might move too close. Watch it on NASA TV. Of the choices listed, I think windows media has the smoothest streaming video. kbordson 8 #3 July 17, 2006 OK... one of the few times it would be nice to have cable.
MF42 0 #4 July 17, 2006 Gotta agree with you there. But televised events actually worth watching are so very rare, I just can't see paying for cable. Shuttle lands in about an hour! Matt
labrys 0 #5 July 17, 2006 Check the Nasa TV link in the OP. You don't need cable to watch it.Owned by Remi #?
MF42 0 #6 July 17, 2006 Oh! I thought she was saying it would be nice to have a better picture than the streaming video; that's what I agreed with. Yeah, click on the NASA TV link and you can watch what's going on there. Mach 24.9 baby! Matt

arlo 0 #19 July 17, 2006 we actually went outside to listen for the sonic boom but never did hear it. :( congratulations to nasa on a successful landing!!
skydiverbrian 0 #20 July 18, 2006 Quotelisten for the sonic boom but never did hear it I heard it great from my house. Only a couple minutes before touchdown... it sounded like a thunder boom minus the usual 'clap' that comes at the end of thunder. That and the windows shook a little. Pretty cool. In a world full of people, only some want to fly... isn't that crazy! --Seal
