I'm sure you had good reason for telling him to "fuck off"... I know the times that I've been told to fuck off or vis-a-vis the times I've told others to "fuck off" its been well deserved... he probably was serious but frankly you can probably do better....

damn another physics question... for what its worth you'll be long gone before anything noticable will happen with the moon...

and honestly the moon won't ever acutally leave Earth's gravitational field though it might get to a point where the force is negilible...

the Gravitational force is actually fairly high at the moment considering its on the order of 2x10^20 Newtons (4.45x10^19 lbs) now in order for the force to be negligble the moon will need to move aproximately 10 to the 10th more kelometers away and at 1/2 and inch per year... which will occur in approximately 8x10^14 years... and since the sun is only 4.5x10^12 years old... I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you can probably rest easy and not worry about it...
