Shotgun 1 #9 July 12, 2006 QuoteThe Marathon bar was just rebranded to become "the snickers bar ". If i remember right it was to save cash in differant packaging formats The candy names in the U.K. are all switched around from the U.S. for some reason. Like a Mars bar over there is a Milky Way over here, and a Milky Way over there is a Three Musketeers over here, and lots more that I can't remember. It's confusing... So you're probably thinking of a different Marathon bar than what we had over here (quite different from a Snickers). Edit to say: I had to look up the British Marathon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Snickers_Marathon.jpg

I called Godiva and they gave me the number to Cool Brand - who said that they never even MADE that flavor - I think it's a coverup. Conspiracy theoriesI'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

airtwardo 7 #20 July 12, 2006 QuoteQuote~Space Food Sticks I've never even heard of them. What were they? *** As I recall...a 'General Foods' product that came out during the height of the late 60's 'Space Race'. They came in an 'air-tight' foil wrapped package, in a box of 12...were 'supposed' to be similar to what that astronauts were munching in zero g... They were about the size of a small 'Slim Jim' and came in various flavors...all of which tasted a lot like Drywall paste. BUT! PLFXpert 0 #25 July 12, 2006 Not really. Everything I loved that was discontinued sucked at first to find something new, but once I did I loved the new product even better. But, I shop at Costco and they have "seasonal" or "sometimes" products and when I LOVE one I'm very sad when they stop carrying it. For example, they used to carry Bolthouse Farms juices and don't anymore. I can still buy them at the grocery store though, but not for as good of a price. And more importantly, my FAVORITE Hawaiian sweet onion kettle chips--I've never found them anywhere but Costco and Costco stopped carrying them a couple months ago. I put in a request card for them, though.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
