matt1215 0 #1 July 13, 2006 I've always had a tough time waking up. Yesterday I woke up to an alarm that had been going for 5 minutes and a yowling feline fighting to get out of a headlock . My mom used to come from the other side of the house to turn off my alarm and wake me. I imagine I'll have that same problem in a couple hours as I still haven't managed to fall asleep . MF42 0 #2 July 13, 2006 I always had those problems when working normal peoples' 9-5 hours. Mornings and I just can't work out our differences. 2nd shift all the way. Matt
matt1215 0 #3 July 13, 2006 Well, I managed a whole 90 minutes of sleep. Dammit, mornings suck . I worked the 7p-7a a couple years ago. Go to sleep at 8-9am and get up at 2-4pm. That was nice
 Andy_Copland 0 #4 July 13, 2006 My sleep pattern is totally shot. 1 week - 7am-3pm 2 week - 11pm-7am 3 week - 3pm - 11pm Im out like a light, before my head hits the pillow but i generally wake up early and once im awake theres no getting me back to sleep.1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. I suffer from insomnia also. It was very bad several years back. Got stuck on Ambien, and just broke that habit last October. Now, I drink a glass of Woodbridge Merlot to put me to sleep. It'll give me 3-4 hours. When I wake up, I drink another glass. Works reasonably well, though there are times where I'll only get 2-3 hours for a couple nights running. I hate that feeling of a "spike between my eyes" during those days.We are all engines of karma
 Icon134 0 #6 July 13, 2006 I used to have problems hearing alarms... I do still suffer from insomnia... but I generally hear alarms. Unfortunately part of the reasons I hear them is because I make a consious effort to listen for the alarm... of course an unfortunate side effect of this is that I generally don't sleep as deep as I'd like... Something about the fact that the alarm sounds the same every day means my brain can tune it out more easily and I'm more likely to hit snooze without even really registering it. Maybe pick some type of music that you really dislike and turn it on really loud (or even better, a really annoying morning DJ )."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please.
