How many miles have you put on a car?

Got a 1984 Nissan Sentra we bought brand new, fresh off the boat with 4.3 miles on it. It's past 226,000 by now and on its second engine. My wife was pregnant with our first kid when we bought it. The kid rode home from the hospital in it, her first ride in a car. Sixteen years later I taught her how to drive it. It's a 5 speed stick too, so she's one of a very few kids her age who can drive a stick. For the most part this old Sentra is now semi-retired, local driving only, but the old girl's still pulling her share of the load. Been completely paid for now for almost sixteen years, so we've sure got our money's worth. It's like one of the kids.

Interesting observation about miles to dropzones. I keep a computer dbase logbook, and one of the fields is DZMILES. My total dzmiles exceeds 205,000 so far. That includes trips to Quincy, Rantoul, DeLand, Eloy, Perris etc.:)

Before we got married, my wife bought a '96 Mazda Protege with 50K miles on it. It has 174K miles now and still runs good. We're shooting for 200K! [Cool] we also have a 2000 Toyota Tundra that we bought brand new and now has 108K miles. A '93 Ford Mustang that I sold with 85K miles on it made it to 298K miles with the buyer before the engine went kaput. Sure wish I'd kept that one! Never had a major problem with it in its entire life.

Here's my FORD Windstar recently on the way to DeLAnd.

Um, don't look now, but your right turn signal is still on...

Are you one of those guys that drives me nuts by driving cross-country with your turn signal on?

No, I pulled off the road to shoot the picture so I wouldn't crash my car!

from everything I had read before I bought my '99 Mazda Protege, they are good little cars! Nice ride, dependable, usually wind up at the top of the list for small cars in Consumer Reports & car & driver.

It's good to hear you're closing in on 200K. I got just under 90K on mine, & have had no major problems

I sold my 1986 KW with more than 1300000, with the same engine and drivetrain. Only one clutch.

:P

Damn'it boy! Talk about pulling up archived threads:S...

Dagblasted self-adjusting clutch just isn't self-adjusting...

I've got a Ford F-150. Bought it brand new the day before I took my very first tandem skydive in October 2001. :)

It only has 38,000 miles on it now and it will be 5 years old in October this year. Averages out to be about 7600 miles a year. If I can keep the miles down and keep it in the good condition it is in now...I should get a LONG life out of it. :)

I bought a used 1996 T-Bird once and put 36,000 miles on it in the first year. I did cut back on that later.

Yup, this is a Crewcab 5.4 v-8 F-150. I think it MIGHT get 15 mpg. But I'm in Texas. You gotta' have a truck in Texas! ;)

Besides, how else would I get all those lovely plants, dirt, edgers and other yard supplies home? :)

I sold my 95 nissan truck May of 05 with over 300,000 mile on it. The odometer stopped working in 1998 and it read 249,000. Now I have a Subaru and hope to have it for a few more years. It is at 117,560. Bought it used last may with 89,000 miles on it.
