J and I got our scuba rating (is that what it's called? Or is it certification? :S) last Friday and we're so excited about it. How many other sky/scuba divers are there here?? I know only a few.

Always remember the 72 hour rule, no jumpy after divey for 72 hours. :)

depends if your diving nitrox you can fly after 12 hours normally unless you have done some saturated dives.

do you realize that when you critisize people you dont know over the internet, you become part of a growing society of twats? ARE YOU ONE OF THEM?

ONLY IF you have dove according to AIR tables....there is a good article in July issue of SCUBA DIVING on nitrox and some of the myths of nitrox. if you extended your dive to take advatage of nitrox, you still have the SAME amount on nitrogen in your blood stream. remember all this stuff is based on theroy...so to error on the side of conservative is always best.

True. I was on a deco dive and my fucking computer blanked out on me at about 15 ft while on the deco stop. Just kept telling me to stay. Everyone got on the boat and i was there hanging on the line looking up. I just hung there until my air ran out...lol What was funny is they sent a diver down to see what was up with me..
I do prefer diving nitrox though. Much less tired after a 3 tank dive

I am a PADI Certified MSDT (Master SCUBA Diver Trainer) where while I was in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia used to teach alot of the regular Saudi's, American's and other nations.

The thing that I loved was the actual teaching be it wreck dives or photography it was all fun.

There in Jeddah you had to always deal with the irogate Saudi Coast guard that was always fun to deal with especially when you had women divers with you that you were not related too....

Water temp was on an average of 84 in the summer and 72 in the winter. Vis was around 5 feet at times to as much as a hundred plus feet at others.

Went diving here in the Great Lakes and that was another story: cold and vis. of 2 feet like doing a dive in a mud hole.... Sure miss diving at times as you can stay under alot longer then on another skydive, But nothing beats the rush .///

I have some pics posted on my web site at: www.geocites.com/kenneth21441

Enjoy,:)

running out or air....BAD BAD BAD...

so after that experience....which do you think is more dangerous...jumping or scuba? i think scuba is much more involved, and requires more heads up.

yeah, thats the main conclusion of the article. if you keep your dives to the air tables, you will be much less fatigued. in all reallity, i have been told we are safe to fly after 12 hours, at least in a presurized plane which is the same as 6000 feet. but a jump plane to 13 grand, we need to be a bit more consrvative.

i only ran out of air because my computer flipped out and i just stayed at 15 ft for like 20 minutes waitin for it to clear me.. I thought i was ok but i just listened to my computer...Scuba is more dangerous not because of ocean life but of all the shit that can go wrong. I have my divemaster rating but that means jackshit. I think so much more can go wring scuba diving
