I was just reading through parachutist... Bush has a D licnese and he can't even stay stable?!

Yeah, but it's an "honorary" D. Somehow I doubt if he just showed up at a DZ with it they would let him go up by himself. But I also doubt that he would try that, so I really don't think it matters.

he was given D-20000. i was hoping for that number when i sent my paperwork in, but was off a little. i would have been little annoyed if i has gotten D-20001.

IIRC, the counted his nighttime bailout from his fighter jet as 199 jumps, and he got his honorary D (D-20000) after his first AFF.

Just in case it isn't clear from the previous posts in this thread, it's George H.W. Bush (George Bush, Sr., the 41st President), and not George W. Bush (George Bush, Jr., the 43rd President) who has honorary D license # 20000. George W. Bush never bailed out of a plane in World War II or, to the best of my knowledge, made any civilian skydives, either.

I hope this clears things up.

Maybe not, but Rick Perry (Gov of Texas) did a S/L jump at the old Ags Over Texas (AOT) at Coulter Field (where Skydive Aggieland is now) when he was a student at Texas A&M years ago.

Do you really think Mrs Bush would let him do that?! Or the secret service guys? His last jump he had more than enough people watching out for him.... whether he had an A, a D or nutting at all.

I think it's nice that USPA gave him an honorary D. His combat experience is significant (anyone that has combat jumps, not just bailing out a plane but expecially the low level s/l herc ones!) I think that takes a lot more something than I have to have with just worrying about the skydive.

Which means he buys beer for all the existing D holders, right... one of you guys should let him know about that
