billvon 3,031 #1 June 28, 2006 WHOOP! WHOOP! WARNING: SATIRE -------------------- In response to escalating costs in Jet-A, as well as the impact of continual rising costs of other supplies and overhead expenses, the World Freefall Convention is implementing a price increase effective July 1, 2006. They also announced that they will no longer publish several prices for various aircraft; they would instead publish only one price, the standard price. Joe Wilson, WFFC spokesman, said yesterday "For a long time, skydivers have had to calculate various discounts or adders, including staff discounts, specialty aircraft, video and high-altitude adders, figure out what that means in terms of price, and then compare that to the normal jump ticket price. We believe our jumpers will benefit from a more straightforward approach to pricing - moving from bothersome calculations to simply: 'this is the price.' Manifesters will always be available to tell them what the various prices actually are." "Part of our goal is to take the focus off of jump prices and put it on helping skydivers become better skydivers. Making sure jumpers are making the best sorts of jumps for their skill level and their progression in the sport is a whole lot more important than shaving a few dollars off jump tickets", said Wilson. "This simplified dollar-based approach to pricing is a step in the right direction." "The key thing is to call the manifester, and use that conversation to make sure that the jump you want to do is the best sort of jump for you. And then get the ticket price", he said. Jeff Sniggle, WFFC manifester, agreed. "It's part of our commitment to providing the best service to our customers. We want our jumpers to be knowledgeable about the jumps we offer and help people find the right sort of jump, not just sell jump tickets." ---------------------- WARNING: SATIRE

skinnyshrek 0 #11 June 29, 2006 But they mention the fuel increase it has been between 10-20 cents the past few months. So why do they need to increase the lift tickets Also, what exactly are they doing to help the jumpers?http://www.skydivethefarm.com do you realize that when you critisize people you dont know over the internet, you become part of a growing society of twats? Man thats good of them I think Skyfest will be better to doing that as they pay more attention to the jumpers needs As I understand it - J is working on just that - What should happen is that the jumper - or potential jumper, as he/she isn't actually jumping at the time) is to go to manifest and request an opinion on what would suit them best - Tube dive, Horny Gorilla, Mr. Bill Etc. So manifest can suggest things like "No Pull - Mr. Bill" or a "Low Pull contest" anything that will tax the experiance of the skydiver and promote education and learning.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
