matt1215 0 #1 June 28, 2006 I took my Neptune with me on a commercial flight, halfway expecting an accurate reading . I estimate the readings I got to be roughly 1/6 true altitude. I know 757's fly higher than 6.5k. That would explain why my ears were so sensitive to my first few skydives .
IanHarrop 42 #2 June 28, 2006 Typically the internal air pressure of commercial aircraft is something less than 8k. I think your Neptune may have been accurate based on the internal air pressure, unless you were sitting outside the 757. Remster 30 #3 June 28, 2006 Quote halfway expecting an accurate reading It was accurate! The pressure of the cabin was the same as being 6.5 k up with no pressurisation Remster
MF42 0 #4 June 28, 2006 A 757 is pressurized. That's why the altimeter was inaccurate. Matt

bch7773 0 #7 June 29, 2006 uhhh if the plane was unpressurized you would be dead. they pressurize them at about 7k. MB 3528, RB 1182
