btwitche1975 0 #1 June 24, 2006 Just curious as to how many people have experienced the rush of a high performance car or bike ride. How did it compare to the rush of skydiving? Plane takeoffs/landings don't count Me?: 165 car, 172 crotch rocket. edit(srewed up on the gerater than symbol @120, dont know how to fix) /* This is my rig... NlghtJumper 0 #2 June 24, 2006 The fastest I got a car up to was 120-125. That was right before the damn governer kicked in. My car can probably reach between 140-160 once I get the chip. Nothing can compare to a good jump. flyboyne 1 #8 June 25, 2006 One of my friends at the dropzone bought a new Vette a couple of years ago and let a bunch of people drive it. I got it up to 141mph. It handled great but still scared the hell out of me. My hands were shaking when I got done but damn, what a rush. I would still rather skydive. Scoop 0 #11 June 25, 2006 130MPH in this... (see attachment) Surprisingly it didn't feel that fast as was on a huuuuge big wide circuit but when go into the chicanes you appreciate the speed your carrying Oh and I think about 140-150 on tha back of a ZZR-1100. Was scary being passenger tho
freeflir29 0 #12 June 25, 2006 4 wheels on the street- 160+ in my 1970 Camaro. The speedo only went to 150 so I'm not exactly sure. I'd be willing to bet the GA State Trooper I passed knew exactly how fast I was going though. I didn't stop to chat. 2 wheels on the street- 177MPH on a 2 stroke Suzuki GS 550. 135 HP on a TINY bike. Deuce 1 #13 June 25, 2006 I'll cruise my K1200RS up to 140-150. Super stable, really smooth. Fastest was a while ago on a friends GSXR1000. That thing went from 0-160-0 in about a quarter mile. OHMIGOD kinda fast. Used to drive cop cars about 130 regularly. Bestest cop car EVER was the Chevy Caprice that was based off the Impala SS. Like a Corvette that sat six. warpedskydiver 0 #14 June 25, 2006 Quote4 wheels on the street- 160+ in my 1970 Camaro. Quote Great Car! I knew a guy who crashed one in HS and kept it at his dad's in the barn. I ran into him driving it again when he was around 38yrs old and he had fixed it by putting a moly chassis in it and installing a fresh aluminum block 427 in it with dual turbos. I really liked the HUGE fuel cell that occupied the former trunk.
 freeflir29 0 #15 June 25, 2006 It was a beautiful car. I had a SERIOUSLY worked over 350CI in it driving a 400 transmission. I finally got fed up with it when I was leaving work one day. Got on it pretty hard........hit a slick spot on the road and before I could do anything about it the Tach shot to 9500 RPM. Spun a main bearing. Sold it not long after that. Strange what a difference 26 mph can make, since I normally drove that car around 100 mph and that didn't seem particularly fast. But now I have become a more responsible driver, and I rarely drive over the speed limit. (And the 4-cylinder Ford Ranger that I now drive probably wouldn't go too fast anyway.)
