FlyingJ 0 #52 June 25, 2006 I never noticed it until I met someone last summer that fit the description perfectly. Nothing happened there, but it made me realize that most of the women I have ever been attracted to have fit the same bill.Killing threads since 2004. DancesWClouds 0 #54 June 25, 2006 Since the 1970s, I have had 5 long-term relationships. HS boyfriend (3.5 years): pretty darn smart and a ridiculously great guitar player. I'll call that one my equal. 1980s boyfriend (4.5 years) sheer genius, and also a wicked guitarist. We were equally matched too. 1990 Husband (almost 6 years) um. . . some people are brilliant in one area, and rather dim in others. I was definitely more cerebral. 1997 boyfriend, another GENIUS, and he had it over me. I still carry a torch for him *snif*. 2002 guyfriend loved me "that way", and sadly, I couldn't return the sentiment. Didn't graduate HS, which sometimes is okay, but he was not too smart. He learned a lot though during our time together (better social skills, how to operate a compter, etc.). The 'smarter' boyfriends were better in bed. P.S. I was NOT a groupie chasing musicians. I had a vocal scholarship to Interlochen Arts Academy, and was a music major in (my short-lived) stint at Western MI Univ. I played professionally from 1980 to 1996, keyboards (people envy my Korg CX-3) and vocals, mainly blues and rock bands, but some jazz and *gak* some top-40 bands. . skycat 0 #55 June 25, 2006 I think it's an age thing, when I was single in my mid-20s and said I was a electrical engineer currently doing unix programing....well um, I swear I heard crickets chirping. Then I started skydiving and I didn't even have to tell a guy what I did, all I said to "what do you do for fun" was skydive and bam they were gone. Now in my early 30s things are different, maybe it's because I want them to go away, but saying I'm a skydiving, rock-climbing, mountain biking engineer makes them ask for my phone number. Fly it like you stole it!

Around here when asked what do you do they mean what do you do for a hobby. I know all of my friends hobbies but not a clue what they do for a living. Fly it like you stole it! NWFlyer 2 #59 June 26, 2006 QuoteSmart, strong women are where it is at. As I said before, show a few my way if you get the chance. Thanks for the reminder I need to see if my mom knows anyone in your target demographic... since you're living right down the road now. (and my mom, being a strong, smart woman herself, certainly can recognize the type)."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. How about one that may or may not be smarter then you? Does that make you feel threatened? Inquiring minds want to know I think you have met my SO the math professor. What do you think?... Yeah, but there's always a place for a really dumb chick who will shutup and do as she's told--like "get me a beer and a sandwich and hurry up about it!".
