Can't save them all

I agree. I don't know what his occupation is, just saw that he hated his job and wanted to complain about mine, too.

He is a Firefighter and sometimes he has to see someone die and realize he can't help them. When you make helping people your lifes work it hurts when you lose one.[:/]
But he is tough, he will be there next shift and save the next one.:)

Feel your pain.
Last week I had to go on a overturned car with 3 pedi,a 8day old not breathing and a 1 year old choking.
After 13 1/2 years in the field pediatric calls still scare the hell outta me. This week has all been trauma with
no pedi involved.

You are right, when there are kids involved it really sucks.

It doesn't get any better after 30 years. But I wouldn't trade one minute on the job for anything. :)

Oh, Kev. :(

Hey we talked about this last year, do you remember?

I stick by what I said then. Say of 13 attempts, 1 made it -it was worth it to go through 12 others to find the one, wasn't it?

I'd never trivialize what you do, and I know this is over simplifying...but you will continue to go through the numbers to find the *one* that takes another breath because of you. That's what heroes do, buddy. That's why we all cheer them and stand in awe; because they go through the numbers when the rest of us couldn't.

That doesn't mean the others don't hurt though, and I'm very sorry that it's cutting a little deeper this time. Take care.
