He is a Firefighter and sometimes he has to see someone die and realize he can't help them. When you make helping people your lifes work it hurts when you lose one. But he is tough, he will be there next shift and save the next one.My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

nubain1 0 #30 June 23, 2006 Feel your pain. Last week I had to go on a overturned car with 3 pedi,a 8day old not breathing and a 1 year old choking. After 13 1/2 years in the field pediatric calls still scare the hell outta me. This week has all been trauma with no pedi involved.

It doesn't get any better after 30 years. But I wouldn't trade one minute on the job for anything. ACMESkydiver 0 #32 June 24, 2006 Oh, Kev. Hey we talked about this last year, do you remember? I stick by what I said then. Say of 13 attempts, 1 made it -it was worth it to go through 12 others to find the one, wasn't it? I'd never trivialize what you do, and I know this is over simplifying...but you will continue to go through the numbers to find the *one* that takes another breath because of you. That's what heroes do, buddy. That's why we all cheer them and stand in awe; because they go through the numbers when the rest of us couldn't. That doesn't mean the others don't hurt though, and I'm very sorry that it's cutting a little deeper this time. Take care.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
