McDuck 0 #18 June 22, 2006 QuoteAnybody need a network engineer / security engineer???? Actually, one of our firewall engineers just quit and another engineer is being forced to retire before he kills himself falling at work. We're in a "hiring freeze", but my guess is we'll be looking to fill those roles sooner than later. Any prior military or GS service? unformed 0 #20 June 22, 2006 QuoteI've been fired from alot of jobs, for doing my job. That's funny. My last job, I tried to get fired for six months. First I stopped doing work. I spent my time playing backgammon. Then I stopped reading emails and told them so. Then I stopped going to meetings because I didn't know when they were (as I wasn't reading emails). Finally I started leaving early to go to the beach. Then I started coming in late so I get could a few games of online poker in before I went o work. Finally, I stopped going to work on Fridays so I could go to the dropzone. So .... they gave me a raise. That's when I decided to quit. This ad space for sale. happythoughts 0 #23 June 23, 2006 We had a guy get fired three weeks ago for "social issues". Ummm... like he was loud, obnoxious, initimidating, and arrogant. Sometimes, at once. Two weeks ago, a person was let go for job-hunting on company time. He was talking to a recruiter and someone overheard. This week, a person was let go for generally no reason. The project has a huge management problem. No one will transfer to it because each time something tanks, the manager picks someone and fires them. It is actually because the manager has no guts and won't back his direct reports.
