JENNR8R 0 #1 June 19, 2006 ... on the floor of Costco yesterday. It was somebody's Platinum Mastercard. I stopped the first employee I saw and asked him what I should do with it. He said to give it to him, and he would give it to his supervisor. Now I'm wondering if that employee is having a good time running up someone's credit card bill. What should I have done with it?What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.
justinb138 0 #2 June 19, 2006 I'd have mailed it to the issuer. Edit: I doubt the store employee would be dumb enough to actually go out and try to use it, so I wouldn't worry about that.
NWFlyer 2 #3 June 19, 2006 What you did was probably as good as any. I would have said take it to the customer service desk, but hopefully that's where it ended up anyway. That's where I'd call if I lost my card at a store."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke
JENNR8R 0 #4 June 19, 2006 That was my first thought, but have you ever seen the line at the customer service desk on a Sunday afternoon? What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.
Scoop 0 #5 June 19, 2006 I wouldn't worry about it. Firstly they will have hopefully cancelled the card the second they realised they lost it and secondly any fraud on a credit card is refunded pretty promptly. You did what you could, any reasonable person would expect member of staff to be responsible person. Don't worry anyway... its not your card.

LilZilla 2 #9 June 19, 2006 i think you made a pretty good decision. another thing you could have done was to call that 1-800 number on the back and tell them that you had found the card. they would have probaby shut the card off and have you mail it them. henryvillar 0 #10 June 19, 2006 I think you did ok, but following instructions on reverse side of card may be better next time. JENNR8R 0 #14 June 20, 2006 Gee... I'm disappointed... I was expecting someone to say that I should have taken off my blouse to gain attention and shouted out the person's name on the card, thereby finding the owner. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.
