Who here is accident prone?

Recommended Posts

Daily? Weekly? Monthly...do you always have a perpetual bruise somewhere on your body? Does the ER know you by name? Do you have 911 on speed dial? Have you always been this way? Whats you most recent injury?

Not me but I have a friend who has two sons. One is a klutz and is known at the ER by name. The cops also know the family because they get reported quite often as abusers. Pisses the guy off when they get reported but the cops get a chuckle and do nothing.

Poor kid can't walk and chew gum without damaging something.
I personally saw him:
-run into a thorny rose bush that has been there for years.
-fall out of their parked minivan onto the driveway smacking his head on the concrete
-hit himself in the head with a bat trying to hit a ball he himself threw up in the air
-crash his bike into a parked car

..you know..normal, typical kid stuff.
My reality and yours are quite different.
I think we're all Bozos on this bus.

I make a trip to the ER on average at least once a year.
Stiches? I dont need no stinking stiches! Anymore that is, after they used glue to piece me back together the only time I'll go get stiches anymore is when i cant clean it effectively or the cut is just too big. Seriously, some bedadine (sp?), some water and sterile gauze/pads and some super glue and your set.

You save a hell of alot of money if you can do it yourself! Waited 3 hours to see an ER doc only for him to glue a cut together....WTF? I could have done that at home...promptly went out and bought myself a bottle of Second Skin.:)

Only when it comes to skydiving......

After having a hard opening I am prone to getting funky harness brusing between my legs now and again.

Tracked out of a wind tunnel by trying to rush my exit and gave myself a facial scar that changes colour with the weather.:S

Ended up with two reserve rides before I'd even finished my consols with what I was told were rare causes.

Maybe I'm just unlucky....

He probably won't see this thread because he is in Iraq... but gremlin is pretty impressive when it comes to being accident prone!

In 2004 he broke (I think) 5 or 6 bones in 3 separate incidents, none of them skydiving... :o

He broke his back in 3 places in the Perris windtunnel.

He broke his little finger doing an obstacle course.

He went too fast over a speed bump on a push bike, the front wheel came off and he landed hard on his chest.

Then there are the more recent foot/knee injuries.

Oh, and not forgetting the "apple pie injury"!

Yep, he is one special gremlin! :D

I was very accident prone growing up. When I moved to the US, the two local emergency rooms that I frequented in Dublin closed down, all my old friends and neighbors blamed me. :S But I have been getting better, I broke my foot pretty badly a couple of years back, and that was probably my last major injury (knock wood).:)
